You are in Akrotiri, at the southern end of Santorini, rather than in the island's busier centre. The hotel sits by the sea, with a black-sand beach about 0.03 miles away and loungers and parasols available there. Caldera Beach is about 0.2 miles away by the property's listed location, while Akrotiri Beach is roughly 0.9 miles away.

Ancient Akrotiri is the useful landmark nearby: the archaeological site is around 0.9 miles away, and the excavations are about a ten-minute walk from the hotel. Red Beach is approximately 1.2 miles away. For dinner beyond the hotel, Melina's Tavern is about 0.9 miles away on foot, while the main bus station in Fira is roughly 4.3 miles away.

The suites are designed for staying in, not merely sleeping between excursions. Each has a separate bedroom, a generous seating area, a modern bathroom with shower, and a private terrace furnished with sun loungers. The caldera and sea views do the visual heavy lifting; you can sit outside with a coffee, a drink or the day's last bit of sunlight without sharing the scene with half the island.

If you are travelling as a small group, the Deluxe Spa Suite adds more room and a private outdoor pool. That combination matters when one of you wants an early night and the other has not quite finished admiring the caldera.

Neptune Restaurant handles breakfast, lunch and dinner on a terrace overlooking the sea, with Mediterranean cooking and fresh local ingredients. Breakfast is included and starts at 07:00, with a continental buffet; you can also have it served in your suite, which is handy when the morning starts early or you simply cannot face conversation before coffee.

The table follows a fairly sensible rhythm: breakfast, lunch from 12:00, and dinner from 19:00. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are available. Dinner dress is smart casual, so the post-dive look may need a quick inspection before you sit down. It is not a place built around continuous snacking, but the 24-hour room service and minibar give you something to work with when hunger arrives at an inconvenient hour.

There is one bar, Poseidon Bar, beside the pool. It specialises in cocktails and has the useful swim-up arrangement, allowing you to move from the water to the drink without making a grand expedition. For a more private evening, candlelit dinner with butler service can be arranged on your terrace.

The main pool is outdoors and has a swim-up bar, with sun loungers for the part of the day when moving feels unnecessarily ambitious. A hot tub is also available. The Neptune Spa adds massages, facials and a jacuzzi, alongside a steam room, sauna, hammam and spa packages. Couples can book a couples massage, while back, neck, foot, head, hand and full-body treatments cover the more specific complaints accumulated during a holiday.

If you still have energy in reserve, the fitness centre and yoga classes offer a less sedentary option. Bicycle hire, walking and bike tours, cooking classes, cultural excursions and boat trips are available, while the hotel's excursion list includes the volcano, hot springs and a wine tour. Kayaking, paddleboarding and snorkelling are also on the menu, with equipment hire available.

For a quieter plan, the private terrace and plunge pool are hard to improve upon. The hotel is adults only, so the rhythm suits couples and small groups looking for a slower evening rather than organised family entertainment.

Santorini International Airport is about 4.7 miles away, around a 20-minute drive. An airport shuttle is available to arrange with the hotel, and car hire can also be organised. Parking on site is free, as is Wi-Fi throughout the property. Luggage storage, a concierge, a tour desk and a doctor on request cover the useful details around travel days and minor mishaps.

Reception is open from 09:00 to 16:00. Check-in is scheduled from 15:00 to 23:00 and check-out from 08:00 to 11:00; arrivals after the reception period use instructions arranged with the hotel. Private and express check-in and check-out are available, but you should give the hotel your expected arrival time and bring photo identification and a payment card.
