Divemed

The centre is a family operation managed by sisters Abigail and Mikela, who bring decades of experience in both diving instruction and underwater film production. The surrounding waters are home to a diverse range of Mediterranean species. You can regularly encounter parrotfish, Mediterranean moray eel, peacock wrasse, and various species of grouper. Larger pelagics such as bull rays, eagle rays, manta rays, and amberjack—the latter appearing in the late spring—frequent the area.

In the sandy areas and near the wrecks, keep an eye out for stingrays, torpedo rays, common stingrays, and various species of octopus and cuttlefish. You may also spot sarpa salpa and Mediterranean moray eels patrolling the structures.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants include various species of shrimp and small fish like apogon méditerranéen. The wrecks themselves serve as artificial reefs, hosting diverse coral crustaceans and providing shelter for a multitude of smaller marine organisms.

The area is best visited during the warm summer months and the mild winters. The location in Marsaskala provides easy access to the various wreck sites and reef structures scattered around the southern coast of Malta.
