The area is influenced by local wind patterns; the Poniente wind typically brings cooler water and improved visibility, while the Levante wind can increase swell and affect clarity. Currents are generally moderate, though they can become strong at the outer edges of the bay and at the La Pared de la Punta de la Mona site.

Visibility typically ranges between 8 and 25 metres. The best time to visit is during the autumn, when the water remains warm and the number of swimmers is lower, often resulting in better visibility.
