Open Water Diving Center La Herradura is situated on the front line of the beach in La Herradura, providing immediate access to the Mediterranean. The centre operates from a spacious 300 m² facility designed for enthusiasts, offering a terrace for relaxing after a day on the water.

Whether you are arriving by land or heading out via the Marina del Este, the centre is positioned to make transitions from the shore to the water as seamless as possible. The proximity to the coastline allows for easy access to a variety of underwater environments, ranging from sheltered bays to dramatic cliffs.

The team is composed of experienced professionals, including PADI instructors, divemasters, and specialised marine biologists. This scientific expertise adds a layer of depth to the diving experience, particularly when identifying the local species.

The underwater landscape is defined by a rich variety of fixed life. You will find numerous sponges (Porifera), anemones, and serpulid worms decorating the rocks, alongside various species of spirographs.

In the rocky crevices and among the vegetation, macro life is abundant. Keep a close eye on the seabed for the common octopus (Octopoda), various nudibranchs including Chromodoris willani, and scorpionfish (Scorpaena). You may also encounter the Mediterranean moray (Muraena helena) or different species of cuttlefish (Sepiidae).

The larger fish populations include several species of grouper, such as the Dusky grouper (Epinephelus marginatus), and the Mediterranean rainbow wrasse (Coris julis). You might also spot the European conger (Conger conger), blacktail comber, or various damselfish inhabiting the reef structures.
