Port Europa

Port Europa is a lively beachfront complex for a stay where the practical details do their job and the coast is never far away. You have a choice between compact rooms and much larger one-bedroom apartments, so the right fit depends less on hotel style than on how much room you want around your dive bags, wet towels and evening clothes.

The atmosphere is more active resort than hideaway. There is an outdoor pool, a sun terrace, a bar, evening entertainment and a children's playground, with the promenade and the beach directly outside. English is available on the hotel's website, alongside Spanish, French and Portuguese, which gives you a useful head start when arranging the stay before you arrive.

You are in Calpe, Spain, on the seafront promenade rather than inland behind the town. Cala del Morello Beach is roughly 0.05 miles away, while Arenal Bol Beach is about 0.2 miles from the property. Cantal Roig Beach is around 0.3 miles away, giving you several stretches of coast within easy reach without turning every swim into a transport exercise.

The setting is useful for more than the shoreline. Peñón de Ifach Natural Park is about 0.8 miles away, and Restaurante Razo is just a few dozen feet from the property. Other nearby restaurants include Salinas-Mar, around 0.1 miles away, and Restaurant y Pizzería Romántica, about 0.2 miles away. Calp railway station is roughly 1.8 miles on foot, or about 2 miles by road.

Alicante–Elche Miguel Hernández Airport is about 42 miles from the accommodation by the distance given for the transfer route. This is a coastal base with everyday facilities close at hand, not an isolated resort where you need a plan simply to find dinner.

The compact Double or Twin Rooms are the straightforward choice for solo divers or couples who expect to spend most of the day outside. They have two single beds, air conditioning, satellite television and a private bathroom with a bath, shower and hairdryer. Towels and bed linen are included, so you can keep the luggage focused on the equipment that actually matters underwater.

For a couple who values space, the one-bedroom apartments make more sense. They give you a separate living arrangement, a private bathroom and a well-equipped kitchenette, with sea-view, bay-view and lake-view versions available. The sea-view apartment is the obvious pick when you want the coast to remain part of the room rather than just part of the walk downstairs.

Families and larger groups can use the apartment layouts, with options reaching up to five adults. The smaller triple rooms add a sofa bed to two single beds, while the family-room offer and children's facilities make the complex workable for mixed-age trips. Every room and apartment is air conditioned, which matters when you return warm, salty and ready for a proper night rather than another adventure.

Breakfast is served as a buffet, and the property has a restaurant, a coffee house, a snack bar and a bar. That gives you several ways to deal with the awkward gap between coming out of the water and sitting down to a full meal: coffee first, something quick if necessary, then dinner when the appetite catches up.

An all-inclusive service is available with buffet full board, drinks during meals and drinks at the bar, including soft drinks, draught beer, house wine, coffee and tea. The bar service runs from 10am to 11pm, which covers the useful part of the evening without pretending that every night needs to become a late one.

Hot and cold sweet and savoury snacks are included in the all-inclusive service during high season. The restaurant also has products prepared especially for children, and packed lunches are available. Around the property, you can also reach several independent restaurants on foot, including Restaurante Razo almost next door and Salinas-Mar a short walk away.

The outdoor pool and sun terrace give you an easy place to spend the surface interval without having to organise another outing. Sun loungers, beach chairs and umbrellas are available, along with a solarium and outdoor furniture. For a diver who has already done enough planning for one day, that is often the right level of activity: shade, a seat and no timetable.

The beach is directly part of the setting, while the nearby promenade gives you a simple walk when staying indoors starts to feel like a missed opportunity. Peñón de Ifach Natural Park is close enough to provide a proper change of scenery, at around 0.8 miles from the property.

Evening entertainment and entertainment staff keep the complex moving after dark, and there is a shared lounge with television. Families have access to a children's playground and a children's pool, while the tour desk can help turn a non-diving day into something more organised. You also have car hire available if the coast is not enough for the day.

A 24-hour reception keeps arrivals and late returns reasonably flexible. Check-in starts at 4pm and check-out is by midday; you need to bring photo identification and a payment card, and the property asks you to share your expected arrival time in advance. Cash is not accepted at the hotel.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the property at no extra charge. There is private parking on site, subject to availability at check-in, and a shuttle service can be arranged. Luggage storage, a tour desk, currency exchange and a lift are also available, which is useful when your travel day does not line up neatly with the room timetable.

Children of any age are welcome, and children aged 13 and over are treated as adults. Cots can be requested for children aged up to one year, subject to the accommodation option. There are no extra beds available. Daily housekeeping is provided, while laundry and ironing services are available for a charge.
