You can come back from the water, cool a bottle in the room fridge, shower privately in selected room categories and switch on the flat-screen TV without negotiating a sprawling hotel complex. The property also runs movie nights, giving you something easy to do when your legs have had enough of walking and your evening ambitions have shrunk to sitting down.

You are in Villajoyosa, Spain, close to the centre and roughly 0.4 mile from Villajoyosa Beach on foot. El Paraiso Beach is about 1.1 miles away, while El Torres Beach is around 2.3 miles on foot; its Roman Tower gives that stretch of coast a little more history than the average sun-lounger stop. The railway station is a three-minute walk from the property, which is handy if you are travelling without a car or want to move along the coast without turning every outing into a logistics exercise. For local food and a drink, Pizzajoyosa is about 0.1 mile away, while Vinos Handeland and La Placeta Bar are around 0.2 mile from your door. Parque de la Barbera is about 0.6 mile away for a slower wander when the sea has done enough for one day.

The room choice is simple and useful rather than theatrical. Solo divers have a single room, couples can choose between a double and a twin arrangement, and a triple room gives three people their own beds instead of making one member of the group draw the short straw. Family rooms are available, although the room cards below are the place to check exactly which arrangement suits your group.

Air conditioning matters here: it gives you a proper chance to cool down after a warm day outside, while heating covers the cooler nights. The hotel is on an upper floor reached by stairs only, so pack with that in mind if you are carrying dive luggage. Check-in runs from 13:00 to 15:00, and you need to tell the property your expected arrival time in advance. Check-out is by 11:00.

The minimum age for check-in is 18. Children can stay with you, but no cots or extra beds are available.
