Atlantik Diving Center

Located in El Quseir, Atlantik Diving Center serves as a professional hub for divers looking to explore the diverse ecosystems of the Red Sea. While the centre was officially established in 2020, the team behind it brings decades of experience to the water, having operated within the Egyptian diving industry since 1996.

The centre operates as a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort, providing a structured environment for both recreational training and advanced exploration. Whether you are looking to start your journey with a Discover Scuba Diving programme or are an experienced diver seeking out the deep walls of the region, the setup is designed to meet international standards.

The team at Atlantik is composed of professional, multilingual instructors dedicated to PADI recreational training. They manage everything from entry-level courses to professional development, ensuring that safety and standardisation remain the priority.

Training is conducted in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms equipped with modern teaching aids like televisions and whiteboards. This professional approach extends to the technical side of the operation, with dedicated areas for equipment maintenance and compressor management to ensure everything is ready for your dive.

Atlantik offers a comprehensive range of PADI courses for every stage of a diver's progression. Beginners can start with the Bubble Maker Course, Discover Scuba Diving, or the PADI Scuba Diver Course, eventually moving through to the PADI Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications.

For those looking to specialise or advance professionally, the centre provides the PADI Rescue Diver, PADI Divemaster, and various specialty courses. These include the PADI Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox), Deep Diver Specialty, PADI Sidemount Diver, PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy, Night Diver Specialty, and the PADI Propulsion Vehicle course.

The centre operates boat-based excursions that depart for full-day trips, typically running from 08:00 to 16:00. These trips allow you to reach the more remote and celebrated reefs of the Red Sea that are inaccessible from the shore.

For those opting for boat dives, lunch and drinks are provided. The excursions cover a variety of environments, from house reef explorations to more challenging offshore sites like Elphinstone Reef via Zodiac.

The centre maintains a high standard of equipment, providing new, high-quality ScubaPro kit for hire. This includes regulators, BCDs, and wetsuits, alongside essential accessories like masks, snorkels, and fins.

On-site technical facilities include a dedicated compressor room featuring Bauer and NRC systems, ensuring reliable Nitrox availability. They utilise aluminium cylinders in various volumes, including 8, 10, 12, and 15-litre sizes, all compatible with air or Nitrox. A specific cleaning area is also provided for the proper maintenance of your personal gear.

The reefs around El Quseir are a vibrant tapestry of hard and soft life. You will find a wealth of corals, including various soft corals (Alcyonacea) and gorgonians, which provide the structural backdrop for the reef. The landscape is further enriched by colourful sea fans and red gorgonians.

In the water column, you can expect to see large schools of fish, including fusiliers (Caesio), snappers (Lutjanus), and various wrasses (Labridae). These are often accompanied by parrotfish and smaller reef fish that navigate the coral structures.

The larger pelagic species are a significant draw for the area. Depending on the site and conditions, you may encounter various sharks, such as grey reef sharks (Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos), silky sharks, and potentially hammerhead sharks (Sphyrna lewini). Large predators like the Napoleon wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus) and various species of tuna and jack (Carangidae) are also part of the local ecosystem.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants add detail to the reef, with cuttlefish, shrimp, and various moray eels (Muraenidae) making appearances throughout the day.

Divers should be prepared for varying conditions depending on the site. Elphinstone Reef is known for having strong currents, which requires a certain level of experience and comfort with drift diving.

While many sites are accessible via boat, the centre also offers shore dives, such as the Night Diver Specialty, which provides a different perspective on the reef environment.
