Located in the heart of Aqaba, Aqaba Moon Diving Center provides access to some of the most diverse underwater environments in the Red Sea. The area is defined by a unique combination of shallow, sun-drenched coral gardens and deeper, more challenging wreck sites that draw divers from across the globe.

Whether you are looking to explore the historic military museum scattered along the seabed or prefer the relaxed atmosphere of a reef flat, the centre is positioned to facilitate both styles of diving. The local topography transitions from sandy patches and macro-friendly gardens to dramatic walls and deep wrecks.

As a PADI 5 Star dive centre, the team is composed of certified PADI instructors and divemasters who provide personalised attention to every diver. The staff is experienced in managing various skill levels, from those taking their first breaths underwater to technical divers exploring deeper structures.

The centre operates with an emphasis on professional standards and safety, maintaining a multilingual environment to assist international divers. They also demonstrate a commitment to the local marine environment through active conservation efforts, including coral monitoring and regular clean-up activities.

The training programme at Aqaba Moon Diving Center covers the entire PADI spectrum. Beginners can start with Try Scuba Diving or Discover Scuba Diving, progressing through the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver courses.

For those looking to specialise, the centre offers several PADI specialty courses, including Enriched Air Diver, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, and Peak Performance Buoyancy. Professional divers can also undertake the Rescue Diver and Divemaster programmes on-site.

For those looking to extend their bottom time or dive deeper, Nitrox is available on-site. The facility is equipped to handle technical requirements, offering Trimix support for divers heading to the deeper wrecks in the area.

The reefs are a riot of colour, dominated by diverse hard corals (Scleractinia) and soft corals (Alcyonacea). You will find vast gardens of brain coral, staghorn coral, and various fan corals, alongside striking black coral trees and gorgonians that thrive on the deeper walls.

In the water column and around the reef structures, you will encounter large schools of reef fish, including anthias (Anthias), butterflyfish (Chaetodon), and parrotfish (Calotomus). Larger pelagics such as jacks (Carangidae), barracuda, and occasional eagle rays (Aetobatus) pass through the area, particularly around the deeper wall sites.

For those with an eye for macro life, the sandy patches and coral crevices host a wealth of smaller creatures. Look for nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), various species of shrimp (Caridea), crabs (Brachyura), and ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae), as well as octopuses (Octopus vulgaris) and cuttlefish (Sepiidae).

Predators and larger residents are also part of the regular scenery, including moray eels (Muraenidae), lionfish (Pterois volitans), and various species of triggerfish (Balistidae). Sea turtles (Cheloniidae) are frequently sighted navigating the reef flats and coral gardens.

Diving in Aqaba is generally characterised by calm, minimal to weak currents, making it an accessible location for a wide range of divers. The swell is typically described as calm and lake-like, providing stable conditions for both reef and wreck exploration.

Seasonal windows for the best conditions are typically between April and June, and again from September to November.
