Located in Simon's Town, just 40 km from the centre of Cape Town, Impact Divers operates from the heart of the local Ocean Hub. As an SSI Instructor Development Centre, the team is geared towards both recreational divers and those pursuing professional career paths. They provide a comprehensive range of training, from initial certifications through to Divemaster and professional development courses.

The staff are ocean experts who integrate marine conservation into their daily operations. All instruction and site guidance is conducted in English, ensuring clear communication for international divers visiting the Cape.

The training programme covers the entire SSI spectrum. Beginners can start with Try SCUBA or the Open Water Diver course, with progression leading through Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver.

For those looking to move into the professional ranks, the centre offers Divemaster training, professional development courses, and various internships. The instructor development status of the centre makes it a dedicated hub for those aiming for a career in diving.

The centre operates semi-rigid dive boats with a capacity for 12 divers and two crew members. These vessels are used for various expedition types, including reef exploration and night dives.

To make the time on the water more comfortable, snacks, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are provided on board during your trips.

A full range of high-quality diving equipment is available for hire, including essential accessories such as torches, dive computers, and action cameras. This allows you to focus on the dive without needing to transport a heavy kit bag.

For those who require technical support, the centre features an on-site Mares technician for equipment maintenance. They also provide specialized cylinder services, including hydrostatic testing, chemical cleaning, visual inspections, and O2 cleaning.

The kelp forests and rocky reefs are home to a diverse array of life. You will find Cape fur seals, various endemic fish species, and cow sharks navigating the granite structures. The reefs are also populated by crayfish, short tailed stingrays, and various sea urchins.

Macro life is abundant for those who look closely. The ecosystem supports Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), various octopuses, and delicate invertebrates such as crabs and crustaceans.

In the open water and around the wrecks, the presence of pelagic species is a highlight. You may encounter sharks, including small endemic species, as well as cetaceans like dolphins. Seasonal sightings may include Orca and various whale species.

The marine environment is shaped by the convergence of the cold Benguela current and the warm Agulhas/Mozambique current. This meeting of waters drives the high productivity of the local reefs.

Divers should be prepared for cold-water conditions, with water temperatures typically ranging between 12 and 18°C. While the area is accessible year-round, please note that diving with seals is currently unavailable due to a local rabies outbreak.
