Dive Baja - Ocean Adventures

Dive Baja - Ocean Adventures is situated in Los Cabos, serving as a gateway to the diverse marine ecosystems of the Baja California peninsula. The centre focuses on providing intimate diving experiences, moving away from large crowds to prioritise small groups and environmental responsibility.

The area is world-renowned for its unique intersection of ocean currents, creating a nutrient-rich environment that attracts everything from sea lions to large pelagics. From the vibrant reefs of Cabo Pulmo to the deep underwater mountains of the Pacific, the centre offers access to some of the most significant diving in Mexico.

The centre is led by Antonio 'Toño', a PADI IDC instructor with over 17 years of experience and a personal log of more than 11,000 dives. This level of local expertise is central to the centre's identity, ensuring that divers are guided by someone who truly understands the seasonal movements and behaviours of the local fauna.

Safety and small group sizes are the operational priorities here. You will typically dive in groups of no more than two or three divers per guide, ensuring high levels of supervision and a personalised experience. The centre is also a member of DAN Business, reflecting a commitment to professional safety standards.

Instruction is provided in both English and Spanish. The team is dedicated to eco-friendly practices, operating with a strict no single-use plastic policy to protect the local marine environment.

Dive Baja offers a comprehensive range of PADI training programmes. Beginners can start with the Discover Scuba Diving programme, while those looking to gain formal qualifications can work through the full range of PADI courses.

For more specialised interests, the centre provides Search and Recovery training. The expertise of the instructors allows for a tailored approach to learning, whether you are a novice or an experienced diver looking to refine your skills.

The centre maintains a focus on safety and essential equipment for all dive profiles. Emergency oxygen and first aid kits are always available on-site and on excursions.

For those who prefer not to carry their own heavy kit, various items are available for hire. This allows you to focus on the diving experience while ensuring you have the necessary equipment for both reef explorations and night dives.

The waters of Baja California Sur are famous for their large pelagic species. You can expect to encounter scalloped hammerhead sharks and various species of rays, alongside dolphins and whales. During certain periods, the area becomes a prime location for seeing whale sharks.

In the reef environments, such as Cabo Pulmo, the biodiversity is immense. You will see large schools of tropical fish and resident bulldog sharks patrolling the coral structures. Sea lions are also a common and charismatic presence in the local waters.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants include a variety of tropical fish and mobula rays. The healthy reef ecosystems support a complex web of life that makes every dive a study in marine biology.
