Rocky Point Scuba Dive is situated in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, right next to Manny’s Beach Club. The centre provides a gateway to the diverse marine ecosystems of the Sea of Cortez, offering both local excursions and organised international dive trips.

For those looking to travel further afield, the centre coordinates expeditions to remote locations such as Bahia De Los Angelas, Cebu in the Philippines, Bali, and the Socorro Islands. These trips often include accommodation and airport transfers, allowing for a seamless transition from the classroom to world-class dive sites.

The centre is led by Lea and Nathan Kesler, who have been operating for 25 years. Lea is a NAUI certified instructor with over two decades of experience and has trained thousands of divers throughout her career.

Instruction is built around small class sizes and private courses to ensure a personalised experience. The team focuses on a safe and structured approach to training, catering to everyone from those taking their first breaths underwater to professional-track students.

As a NAUI affiliated centre, Rocky Point Scuba Dive offers a complete progression of certifications. You can begin with Intro to Scuba or the NAUI Scuba Diver course, progressing through Advanced Scuba Diver and Rescue Diver levels.

For those pursuing a professional career, the centre provides Divemaster certification training. They also offer Scuba Refresher courses for divers looking to brush up on their skills before heading out on a trip.

The new dive shop at Manny’s Beach Club serves as the primary hub, providing a heated pool for skills practice and theoretical instruction. It also offers direct access to the water for open water certification dives.

For divers travelling without their own kit, a full range of equipment is available for hire, including BCDs, regulators, and computers. Nitrox is available on-site for those looking to extend their bottom time.

The Sea of Cortez offers a wealth of large pelagics depending on the time of year. Between December and March, you may encounter fin whales and humpback whales near Bird Island. In November, December, and May, whale sharks can be found in the Socorro Islands region.

You will frequently see playful sea lions and various dolphin species throughout the local waters. The area is also a reliable place to spot turtles and a wide variety of reef fish.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, including nudibranchs and various species of tropical fish. The reefs are characterised by healthy coral formations and gorgonians that provide a complex habitat for smaller marine life.
