ALMA Surf Lodge is an adults-only base in Punta Mita, with the useful bits close at hand: a rooftop swimming pool, a restaurant, a cocktail bar, outdoor seating and free WiFi. The atmosphere leans towards an easygoing lodge rather than a formal hotel, with live music and evening entertainment to keep the night moving without turning the whole stay into a compulsory party.

You can arrive, settle in and leave the practical details to the property’s concierge service. Private check-in and check-out, luggage storage and daily housekeeping make the place workable for a short break or a longer stay, while the adults-only policy keeps the guest profile firmly grown-up.

You are in Punta Mita, Mexico, at Avenida Las Redes in Corral del Risco. The lodge is around 300 metres from Punta Mita Beach, described as a two-minute walk, with Careyeros Beach roughly 1.5 km away. That puts sand and sea within easy reach without claiming the property sits directly on the shoreline.

The immediate area is useful rather than remote. Babelas is about 50 metres away, Casa Teresa Ristorante around 100 metres, and Mr. Asados roughly 200 metres. If you want a wider evening out, bars in Sayulita are about 13.5 km away. The address is also well placed for days beyond Punta Mita: Aquaventuras Park is 32 km away and the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center 38 km away.

The rooms are designed for two, with king-size or super-king-size beds and private bathrooms with a bath or shower, toilet, towels and a hairdryer. The range runs from compact doubles to a larger 25-square-metre option, so the choice matters more than the repeated room name suggests: couples who prefer a little breathing space should look towards the largest room, while the smaller doubles suit anyone treating the room mainly as a place to sleep and change.

Air conditioning is the feature you will appreciate most when the Mexican heat has done its work. There is a wardrobe or closet, linen, clothes rails and a drying rack for clothing, with a socket near the bed for keeping devices alive. The rooms are non-smoking, and the lodge also has allergy-free rooms.

Outside, the property gives you a sun terrace, terrace seating, outdoor furniture and pool or beach towels. There is no need to turn the room into a storage locker for the whole holiday; the practical layout covers the basics, while the rooftop pool and nearby beach provide the places to spend the daylight hours.

ALMA Restaurant covers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lunch and dinner are described as American cuisine, giving you an on-site option when you want food without another trip into town. The lodge also has a bar serving cocktails, plus wine and champagne available at the property.

The wider dining offer brings more variety than the lodge’s own restaurant alone. Mauka Restaurant and Beach Club serves Mexican seafood for lunch by the beach. For dinner, TORA IZAKAYA works with Japanese comfort food and a relaxed atmosphere, while La Rustia combines Mexican and Italian cooking with a beachfront view. Zicatela focuses on Oaxaca-inspired Mexican food, and Dulce Churros supplies the sweet finish.

The retreat also combines private dinners, local dining and curated food experiences. That gives you several ways to arrange the evening, whether you want to eat in, sit by the beach or make dinner part of the outing. There is no continuous-snacking arrangement described, so plan around proper meals rather than expecting food to appear every time you leave the pool.

The rooftop swimming pool and sun terrace give you the simplest post-breakfast plan: find a lounger, take a swim and let the day make its own decisions. Sun umbrellas, beach chairs and pool or beach towels are available, while the terrace and outdoor seating provide places to sit without having to retreat indoors.

If staying still becomes too ambitious, yoga and fitness classes are available. The lodge also arranges or supports activities beyond the property, including snorkelling, sailing, fishing and horse riding. These are paid activities and some take place off site, so they suit days when you want the sea without putting on a dive kit.

For land-based outings, you can choose from a Monkey Mountain hike, South Bay hikes, shopping in Sayulita, sunsets in San Pancho and a visit to La Cruz Market. Evening entertainment and live music bring the day to a close, with the rooftop pool and the beach providing the quieter alternatives when your legs have had enough.

Lic. Gustavo Diaz Ordaz Airport is about 37 km away, with a drive of roughly 45 to 60 minutes. An airport transfer service is available through the lodge. Free private parking is available on site, with reservation required, which is useful if you are hiring a car for the coast rather than relying on taxis for every outing.

Check-in runs from 15:00 to 23:00, and you need to tell the property your expected arrival time. Check-out is available 24 hours. Private and express check-in and check-out are both available, alongside luggage storage and concierge service.

The lodge accepts adults from the age of 18 and does not accommodate children, cots or extra beds. Pets are allowed on request. Parties and events are not allowed, and the property has 24-hour security, CCTV in the common areas and outside the property, smoke alarms, key access and a safety deposit box.
