Escape Divers

Located on Koh Tao, The Jungle serves as a social hub for divers looking for a central base. It is positioned ten minutes on foot from the island's main nightlife area, offering a location that is close enough to the action but far enough to escape the heaviest crowds.

The establishment is designed around a social atmosphere, featuring a fully stocked bar and lounge seating areas. It caters to a variety of travellers, providing a mix of budget-friendly dormitory options and more private, air-conditioned rooms for those seeking a quieter stay between dives.

The reefs around the area are home to a diverse array of colourful reef fish, including various species of Butterflyfish (Chaetodon), Angelfish (Pomacanthidae), and Wrasse (Labridae). You will often see Parrotfish (Calotomus) grazing on the reef, alongside Grouper (Epinephelus) and Moray eel (Muraenidae) tucked into ledges.

Larger pelagics and predators can be spotted throughout the water column, including Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) and Reef shark (Carcharhinus). Divers may also encounter Southern stingray (Hypanus americanus) or blue spotted stingrays gliding over the sandy patches.

The seabed is well-populated with sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and various crustaceans like Crab (Brachyura) and Shrimp (Caridea). Look closely for Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani) and other small invertebrates that thrive among the reef structures.

For those interested in the hardscape, the environment is built upon a foundation of staghorn coral and table coral. These structures provide essential habitat for sea anemone fish, banded clownfish, and many other juvenile fish seeking shelter.
