The reefs around Koh Phangan host a variety of colourful reef fish, including angelfish (Pomacanthidae), wrasse (Labridae), and parrotfish (Calotomus). You will often see butterflyfish (Chaetodon) and various other species of reef fish moving through the water column.

In the sandy areas and near the reef, you can encounter turtles (Cheloniidae) and various rays, such as the Southern stingray (Hypanus americanus) and blue spotted stingrays. Moray eels (Muraenidae), including white-eyed moray eels, are also common residents of the reef structure.
