Lotus Diving

Located in the Chaloklum area, Lotus Diving is the most established dive centre on Koh Phangan. Having been operational since 1999, the centre has become a cornerstone of the local diving community over the last 25 years.

As an SSI IDC Center, the facility is equipped to handle everything from recreational exploration to professional instructor development. The operation is centred around the Sang Kaew dive boat, providing access to the region's most iconic dive sites.

The centre is led by an owner and instructor trainer with over 35 years of experience in the industry. This depth of expertise is reflected in the facility's status as an SSI Instructor Development Centre (IDC), the only one of its kind on the island.

The staff provides instruction in English, covering a vast range of certifications from entry-level Scuba Diver to professional-level Instructor Training Courses.

Lotus Diving offers a comprehensive curriculum of SSI courses. Beginners can start with Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certifications, while those looking to advance can pursue Advanced Adventurer, Deep Diving, or Night & Limited Visibility specialties.

For professional divers, the centre provides a complete pathway through Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and the Instructor Training Course (IDC), including Specialty Instructor training. More technical skills are also available through Enriched Air Nitrox and Perfect Buoyancy courses.

The Sang Kaew is the centre's dedicated dive boat. It is used for various excursions, including trips to prominent sites like Sail Rock and the Ang Thong Marine Park. The boat supports both day trips and night diving, with food and drinks provided on board.

The centre is a full-service facility located in Chaloklum with dedicated buildings for divers. Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time during excursions.

For those looking to relax between dives, the on-site Café Chou Chou offers a convenient place to rest and refuel.

The surrounding waters are home to a variety of reef fish, including butterflyfish (Chaetodon), angelfish (Pomacanthidae), and various wrasse (Labridae). You will also encounter grouper (Epinephelinae), barracuda (Sphyraena), and moray eels (Muraenidae).

Large pelagics and reef residents include reef sharks (Carcharhinus), stingrays (Hypanus americanus), and blue spotted stingrays. Turtles (Cheloniidae) are also a frequent sight in these waters.

For those interested in macro life, look for nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), sea anemone fish, and various crustaceans such as crabs (Brachyura) and shrimp (Caridea). Sea cucumbers and sea urchins (Echinoidea) are also part of the ecosystem.

The dive sites are accessible via the Sang Kaew boat, which facilitates both day trips and night diving operations.
