Located on Koh Phangan, Plongée Koh Phangan Diving provides a specialised approach to diving in the Gulf of Thailand. The reefs are home to a vast array of colourful reef fish, including butterflyfish, angelfish, and various species of wrasse. You will frequently encounter large schools of bigeye trevally, chevron barracudas, and yellowtail barracudas patrolling the water column.

On the sandy bottoms and near the structures, look for blue spotted stingrays (Hypanus americanus), sea turtles (Cheloniidae), and various species of reef shark (Carcharhinus). Large groupers (Epinephelus) and snappers are often found stationed near the ledges and pinnacles.

For those interested in macro life, the sites offer plenty of nudibranchs, sea anemone fish, and various species of shrimp (Caridea). Keep a close watch for porcupinefish, lionfish, and scorpionfish hiding among the coral and rocks.

The larger pelagics that visit the area include whale sharks, manta rays, and various species of tuna, including dogtooth tuna. You may also see bull sharks and blacktip reef sharks during your dives.

Currents at the dive sites can vary significantly, ranging from nil to strong, particularly around the major pinnacles and the islands of the Ang Thong Marine Park. Divers should be prepared for tidal currents and occasional moderate flow.

The sea state can range from calm to heavy swell depending on the location and time of year, which can affect boat transit to more distant sites like Sail Rock.
