Located in Puerto del Carmen on the southern side of Lanzarote, Aquanautic Club Lanzarote (formerly known as Speedy’s Diving Center) provides a gateway to the Canary Islands' diverse underwater topography. The local waters offer a consistent environment for year-round diving, characterised by clear visibility and a variety of underwater features.

You can expect to explore everything from dramatic rock formations and caves to wrecks and bustling fish schools. The island's volcanic history has created a unique seabed that supports a vibrant range of marine life, making it a compelling destination for both recreational and technical divers.

The centre is a fully authorised Centro de Buceo, meeting the latest regulatory standards set by the government of the Canary Islands. It operates as a dual-affiliation school, providing courses through both CMAS and SSI frameworks.

With a focus on professional standards, the centre is equipped to handle a wide variety of divers, from those taking their first breaths underwater to instructors undergoing training. The facility is designed to support the logistical needs of a serious diving community, ensuring a smooth transition from the shore to the water.

Training at the centre covers the entire spectrum of scuba diving. Beginners can start with 'Schnuppertauchen' or progress through the Open Water Diver course, while those looking to expand their skills can undertake the Advanced Adventure Diver programme.

For more specialised training, the school offers Nitrox Basic certification, which is particularly useful given the availability of Nitrox on-site. The centre also caters to advanced divers with technical diving courses and provides pathways for those interested in becoming a Tauchlehrer (Dive Instructor).

The dive centre operates from a modern, spacious base of over 150 m², providing ample room to organise your kit. For those travelling with their own equipment, there is dedicated storage available on-site to keep your gear secure.

Maintaining your kit is made easy with an on-site drying area, including sufficient hanging space for wetsuits and BCDs. The centre also provides Nitrox, allowing you to take advantage of extended no-decompression limits during your dives.

The underwater scenery is defined by a rich variety of fixed life, including soft corals and various encrusting anemones that cling to the volcanic structures. Sponges and sea anemones (Actiniaria) add texture and colour to the reef flats and rock formations.

In the open water and around the reefs, you are likely to encounter larger pelagics such as Manta rays (Mobula alfredi) and Eagle rays (Aetobatus). Schools of fish are a constant presence, with Groupers (Epinephelus) often found stationed near ledges or within the caves.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, from the delicate Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda) to various species of Octopus (Octopus vulgaris). Keep a close eye on the sandy patches and crevices for Cuttlefish (Sepiidae), Pufferfish, and the occasional Angelshark (Squatina).

Diving in Lanzarote is possible throughout the entire year due to the island's southern location. The waters remain warm and clear, providing reliable conditions for daily dives regardless of the season.
