Aquasport Diving Lanzarote is an established SSI dive centre situated in Puerto del Carmen. Since opening in 2014, the centre has become a key hub for both recreational divers and those pursuing advanced technical qualifications in the Canary Islands. The volcanic coastline of Lanzarote provides a dramatic backdrop for diving, offering everything from shallow reefs to deep vertical walls.

The centre is well-positioned to access the diverse marine environments of the island, whether you are heading out from Playa Chica or departing via van to more remote sites. With a focus on small guided groups, you can expect a structured approach to your dives, whether you are looking for a morning of exploration or a night dive under the stars.

The team is led by Eric, an SSI Instructor Trainer with over a decade of professional experience, alongside co-owner Géraldine. The instructional staff includes Loïc, an instructor since 2013 who specialises in technical diving and cave exploration. This depth of expertise ensures that the centre can support divers through a rigorous progression of skills.

Services are delivered in English, French, and Spanish, making it a convenient choice for international divers. The centre is known for its professional approach to both leisure diving and advanced training, maintaining a focus on safety and technical proficiency across all levels of the SSI curriculum.

Aquasport Diving Lanzarote offers a comprehensive range of SSI training, from the initial Open Water Diver course through to professional levels such as Divemaster and Instructor. The centre is particularly noted for its technical training programmes, including Extended Range Foundations, Extended Range, and Technical Extended Range.

For those interested in breath-hold diving, the centre also provides freediving (apnée) courses, ranging from introductory experiences to formal training. The technical curriculum is designed to take divers from foundational skills into the more complex realms of deep and extended range diving.

The centre operates boat trips with a capacity for up to 40 divers in groups. These outings allow you to reach various sites around the island, with departures from either the port or Playa Chica. On board, coffee and snacks are provided to keep you refreshed between dives.

For those looking to expand their horizons, boat excursions are available, and the team can also organise trips to Playa Blanca, which includes a visit to the underwater museum. Night dives are also part of the centre's regular programme.

The centre provides full equipment hire for those travelling without their own kit, including BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, fins, masks, and torches for night diving. For divers who prefer to bring their own gear, the centre offers facilities for storage and rinsing.

Nitrox is available on-site for divers looking to extend their bottom time. For those requiring more gas volume, 15-litre cylinders can be arranged. It is important to note that Spanish law requires a valid diving insurance policy, which the centre can assist with arranging.

The marine life at these sites is diverse, with the volcanic walls and canyons providing a home to many species. You will find a rich variety of sponges (Porifera) and orange corals decorating the rocks, alongside anemone gardens and large sea anemones. The vertical walls are often inhabited by groupers (Epinephelus) and various species of moray eel (Muraenidae).

Macro divers will find plenty to explore among the crevices and coral structures. The area is home to nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), and various types of shrimp (Caridea), including narwal shrimp and cleaner shrimp (Lysmata). Octopuses (Octopus vulgaris) and crabs (Brachyura) are also frequently encountered.

In the more open areas and sandy patches, you can encounter larger species such as angel sharks (Squatina), stingrays, and manta rays (Mobula alfredi). Schools of sardines (Sardina pilchardus) and larger pelagic species, including tuna (Thunnus) and barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), often pass through the area. You may also spot rays (Batoidea), butterfly rays, and even the occasional sea turtle (Cheloniidae).

Diving in Lanzarote is possible year-round, with the island's volcanic geography creating a variety of underwater habitats. The availability of different sites allows for a range of experiences depending on the local conditions on the day of your dive.
