Club De Plongee Bateliere

Located in Schœlcher, Martinique, Club de Plongée Batelière has been a fixture of the local diving community since 1995. The centre is positioned in an ideal location at the Hôtel La Batelière, providing easy access to the water via the beach directly in front of the hotel.

The club operates with a focus on both professional instruction and a convivial atmosphere. Whether you are looking for your first introductory dive or are an experienced diver seeking to explore local wrecks, the centre organises outings based on skill levels, weather conditions, and diver preferences.

The team is led by Eric, the owner since 1995, who specialises in guiding beginners through their first experiences underwater. He is joined by Niko, an instructor with a particular focus on marine biology and technical diving, ensuring that both the safety and the educational aspects of every dive are prioritised.

As an FFESSM-affiliated centre and a Beuchat Diving Center, the club follows structured training protocols. The staff is dedicated to providing a safe, pedagogical environment for all divers, from those starting their journey to those pursuing higher-level certifications.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of FFESSM training programmes. This includes everything from Niveau 1 through to Niveau 3, catering to all stages of a diver's progression.

For those looking for more specific skills, the club provides various autonomous diver courses. These include the PE12 (Plongeur encadré 12m), PA12 (Plongeur autonome 12m), PE40 (Plongeur encadré 40m), and PA20 (Plongeur autonome 20m). The curriculum is designed to build competence and confidence in different underwater environments.

The club utilises a yole for its boat excursions, with a capacity for up to 10 people on board. These trips are organised to suit various needs, including wreck exploration and night dives.

On board, divers can enjoy coffee and planteur after their sessions. The boat is used to reach local sites such as the Lady Five and the Yoyo wreck, allowing for efficient transit to the dive locations.

The centre provides full equipment hire for those who do not wish to carry their own kit. This includes essential items such as regulators, BCDs, and wetsuits. For specific needs, dive computers, torches, and SMBs (parachute de paliers) are also available for hire.

On-site facilities include a space for briefing and equipment preparation. After diving, the club provides a space to relax with coffee and snacks, maintaining a professional environment for gear maintenance and diver debriefing.

Dive outings are organised daily according to the prevailing weather conditions and sea states. The club offers both shore-based departures and trips via the yole to reach specific sites, with schedules adapted to ensure safety and optimal diving conditions.
