Odyssea Plongee

Odyssea Plongée is situated in the commune of Schœlcher, specifically in the Fond Lahaye district. The centre sits directly on the seafront, providing a practical and accessible meeting point for divers heading out to the Martinique reefs.

The team consists of state-qualified instructors who manage everything from equipment preparation to technical guidance. The training programme covers the full spectrum of diver progression, starting with the Open Water Diver course for those new to the sport. For those looking to advance their skills, the centre offers various paths to deepen your experience.

Specialised training is a core part of their offering, particularly regarding Nitrox. They provide Nitrox Elementary, which involves two supervised Nitrox dives, as well as Nitrox Confirmed, a more technical course consisting of four dives using enriched oxygen mixtures for decompression. This allows divers to better manage their nitrogen loading and extend their dive times.

The centre operates a 3D Tender Patrol 760, a high-performance semi-rigid boat powered by a 250hp engine. This vessel is chosen specifically for its ability to reach dive sites quickly, minimising transit time and maximising the time spent underwater.

Designed with divers in mind, the boat features a secure and practical cylinder rack to ensure safe transport of kit. It has a capacity of 12 people, a limit maintained to preserve a familial atmosphere and ensure there is sufficient space and quality of instruction for everyone on board. The boat is robust enough to handle various sea conditions, providing a stable platform for both day and night dives.

Odyssea Plongée provides full equipment hire for divers who prefer not to travel with their own kit. This includes all the necessary components for a complete setup, allowing you to arrive at the seafront and head straight to the water.

The centre also manages all equipment preparation on-site, ensuring that cylinders and regulators are ready for your scheduled departures.

The local waters are home to several charismatic species, with sea turtles being a regular sight for divers exploring the reefs. These animals can often be observed navigating the coral structures and sandy patches.
