Fuvahmulah occupies a unique position in the Maldives, a single island situated far from the main atoll chains. Pelagic Divers Fuvahmulah operates as a professional, 100% Maldivian-owned centre led by instructor Ahmed Inah. The operation is built around the island's specific ecology, providing access to both the deep-water encounters of the surrounding channels and the diverse reef systems nearby.

The centre operates a spacious and clean boat designed to accommodate up to 14 guests. It is well-equipped for daily dives, featuring on-board toilets and a freshwater shower to rinse off after the dive. The vessel is large enough to allow for comfortable movement while heading out to the various sites around the island.

For those staying on longer, the centre also offers convenient accommodation packages. These can include Bed & Breakfast stays on Fuvahmulah or Hulhumale, with some packages managing all domestic flight transfers and airport pick-ups for you.

The waters around Fuvahmulah are a magnet for large pelagics. You can expect to see tiger sharks year-round, alongside silvertip sharks, oceanic whitetip sharks, and reef whitetip sharks. Other large visitors include tuna, great barracuda, and various species of jack and snapper (Lutjanus).

Seasonal visitors add further variety to the dives. From January to May, you may encounter whale sharks, while Mola Mola and whales are seen between January and March. Thresher sharks are present from mid-April to December, and oceanic manta rays appear between March and May. Hammerhead sharks are also a key attraction, with scalloped hammerhead sharks appearing from October to April and other hammerhead sharks from September to December.

On the reef, the scenery is supported by hard coral (Scleractinia) and a variety of colourful reef fish. You will regularly encounter turtles, octopus, and various eagle rays, including marbled rays and Southern stingray (Hypanus americanus).

Conditions around Fuvahmulah can vary, with currents ranging from light to moderate. The dive team assesses the current before every entry to ensure the safety of the group.
