Scuba Channel Fuvahmulah

Fuvahmulah is a unique geological feature in the Maldives, an island that drops vertically into the deep ocean. This topography creates exceptional oceanic conditions that attract a massive variety of pelagic species to the island's edges.

Scuba Channel Fuvahmulah has been operating since 2019, providing expert-led excursions and professional PADI training. The centre is founded by local pioneer Abdulla Zafar Ali, ensuring that the dives are led by those with an intimate understanding of these specific waters.

The centre is a full-service PADI facility, offering everything from the Open Water Diver course to Advanced Open Water. For those looking to progress further, they offer Rescue Diver and Divemaster certifications.

You can also specialise your training through various PADI Specialty Courses or pursue Freediving training.

The centre provides full kit hire for your dives, which is included in the cost of all PADI courses. This ensures you have the necessary equipment to dive safely and comfortably.

The waters around Fuvahmulah are famous for large pelagics. You can regularly encounter Tiger sharks (Galeocerdo cuvier), Whale sharks, and Hammerhead sharks (Sphyrnidae). Other notable residents include Silky sharks (Carcharhinus falciformis) and Bull sharks (Carcharhinus leucas).

Oceanic Manta Rays are a highlight of the channel sites, often seen near cleaning stations. You will also find Hammerhead sharks (Sphyrna) and various other shark species including Silvertip sharks and Oceanic whitetip sharks.

At dawn, the area offers the chance to see Thresher sharks. The reefs and wrecks are also home to Snappers (Lutjanus), turtles, and various colorful reef fish.

On the seabed and around the wrecks, you will find a variety of marine life including turtles and various snapper species.
