Oia is the activity here, provided you are happy to count walking without needing a numbered bib. Walking tours and bike tours can be arranged, while hiking and cycling are available away from the property. The caldera paths and village lanes give you something to do between meals without requiring a timetable or a second briefing.

For a day beyond the lanes, the available outings include a cooking class, horse riding, canoeing, fishing and snorkelling. These take place away from the hotel, so you can use the concierge or tour desk to organise the practical details and then return to your room for air conditioning, a shower and a properly horizontal evening.
