Playa Penoural is about a 3-minute walk away, while Playa de Portelo takes around 5 minutes on foot. Playa A Marosa and Cantiño Beach are each roughly 1.5 miles away, and Areoura Beach is about 1.5 miles away by road.

Burela railway station is around a 5-minute walk from the aparthotel. You also have several places to eat and drink within walking distance, including Boasmigas at about 3 minutes, A Marquesa at around 4 minutes, and Cervecería Restaurante Kiko at roughly 5 minutes.

These are apartments, so you can make the room work around your diving day rather than arranging your day around hotel meal times. The kitchenette includes a refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, toaster, coffee machine and kitchenware. That gives you somewhere to keep cold drinks and something more substantial than a packet of biscuits when you come back hungry.

For two people, the sea-view apartment is the obvious choice if the outlook matters to you. The larger deluxe and terrace apartments make more sense for a family or a group of up to four, with a separate bedroom, a dining area and a work desk giving everyone a little more room to spread out. Family rooms are available, and children of any age are welcome.

Air conditioning and heating cover different sorts of Galician weather, while soundproofing should help keep the night more restful. The apartments also have a private bathroom, towels, toiletries, a hairdryer and a wardrobe. A lift serves the upper floors, and facilities are adapted for guests with reduced mobility.

Food here follows the coast rather than a buffet timetable. The aparthotel's dining offer includes Palacio de Cristal, a Galician restaurant working with meat, fish and seafood, and Cetárea Burela, where fresh produce comes from the fish market to the table.

Palacio de Cristal combines traditional and modern surroundings and has been serving its style of Galician cooking since 1992. Cetárea Burela puts the emphasis firmly on fresh seafood and carefully selected produce. After a day in the water, that is the sort of menu that requires less explanation than a tasting plate with a dramatic name.

The apartments' kitchens give you another option: coffee in your own dining area, a simple meal made when you want it, or provisions kept in the refrigerator for later. A breakfast service, bar service and meal-plan formula are not part of the available offer, so the useful distinction is between eating at the property's restaurants and handling meals yourself.

The sea provides the main change of scenery. You can step out towards the beach, sit on the terrace and watch the harbour rather than queue for another organised activity. There is also a hot tub and a spa bath for the part of the day when your shoulders have had enough of carrying dive gear.

For a day out of the water, the aparthotel presents a choice of coastal and cultural excursions. Playa de las Catedrales, Isla o Illa Pancha, the fortress of Pardo de Cela, Finca Galea and the Castro de Fazouro are among the places to explore.

You can also look towards Sargadelos factory, Paseo de los Enamorados, Pozo o Poza da Ferida, Souto da Retorta and the San Roque viewpoint. Semana Santa de Viveiro is another listed local event. This is a useful base for seeing more of the Galician coast, without turning the hotel into an activities camp.

Check-in runs from 14:00 to 23:00, and you need to tell the property your expected arrival time. Check-out is by 12:00, giving you a little more breathing room on departure morning than the usual early dash for the door.
