Robinson Club Cala Serena, Armin & Natascha Korger Mallorca

Since 1997, Armin and Natascha Korger have operated Divecenter Mallorca, providing a dedicated space for divers on the south-east coast of the island. While the centre is situated within the Robinson Club Cala Serena, it is open to all divers regardless of whether they are staying at the resort.

The centre has built a long-standing reputation based on hospitality and technical reliability. With over 35 years of experience in the region, the team focuses on making diving accessible to everyone, from your very first breath underwater to professional-level training.

The centre is a family-run operation led by Armin and Natascha Korger. During the high season, the team is bolstered by a group of qualified instructors and staff, including Claudia, Thomas, Luca, Tobias, Kay, Maxl, Clemens, and Till.

Instruction is provided in several languages, including German, English, Spanish, and French. This multilingual approach ensures that training and dive briefings are clear and precise for international divers.

Training covers the full spectrum of SSI certifications. The centre offers programmes for children, such as the Scuba Ranger, as well as professional paths for those aiming to become Divemasters, Diveguides, or Instructors.

As an SSI affiliated centre, the curriculum ranges from introductory programmes like Try Scuba Diving and Scuba Ranger to the full Open Water Diver course. For those looking to advance, the centre provides Advanced Open Water, Deep Diving, and Navigation specialties.

Professional development is a core part of the centre's offering, with courses available for Divemaster, Diveguide, Divecon, and Instructor levels. Technical and specialty training is also available, including Nitrox, Night Diving, Search & Recovery, Dry Suit Diving, and the Science of Diving.

The primary dive boat is the Capelli Work 750, a robust vessel capable of carrying up to 12 people. For added safety and reliability during excursions, the boat is equipped with two 4-stroke engines and two batteries.

Designed for comfort and ease of use, the boat features a diving ladder to assist with easy re-entry and a large bag to organise fins and other accessories. It is used for various trip types, including reef explorations, night dives, and excursions to the Cabrera National Park.

The centre maintains high standards for shore-based facilities, featuring a dedicated classroom, a workshop, and separate changing rooms for men and women. A Bauer compressor is used on-site to ensure reliable air supply.

For those not bringing their own kit, a full range of rental equipment is available from brands such as Scubapro, Mares, and Cressi. This includes BCDs, wetsuits, regulators, and computers. Every diver hiring kit is provided with their own dedicated regulator for the duration of their stay.

The reefs around Cala D'Or are home to a wide variety of fish. You can regularly encounter groupers, barracudas, mackerels, and breams patrolling the areas, alongside rays and various species of sardines.

For those interested in macro life, the area offers plenty to see. Look out for octopus, moray eels, conger eels, and scorpionfish hiding in the crevices, as well as nudibranchs and various shrimp species.

The larger inhabitants of the area include tuna and rays, which are often seen in the deeper waters of the Cabrera National Park. The biodiversity is supported by a healthy ecosystem of various Mediterranean species.

The area is known for excellent underwater visibility, typically ranging between 20 and 30 metres. This makes for clear, easy viewing of the reef structures and marine life.

Dive sites are accessible via boat, with many of the most popular reefs located only 15 minutes from the centre. The local topography includes a mix of reef flats, tunnels, and limestone caves.
