Mar Balear Dive Center

Located in Port Adriano, Calvià, Mar Balear Dive Center has been operating for over 20 years. The centre is positioned perfectly to access some of the Balearic Islands' most important protected marine areas, offering a gateway to the diverse ecosystems of the Mediterranean.

The centre operates as a dedicated diving school with a focus on environmental respect and marine preservation. Whether you are looking to complete your first certification or advance your skills through technical specialties, the location provides access to a variety of underwater landscapes, from deep walls to sheltered caves.

The team is composed of highly qualified instructors who manage everything from beginner Try Scuba sessions to professional Divemaster courses. They maintain a warm, family-oriented atmosphere while adhering to strict safety standards and SSI training protocols.

Safety is a core component of their operation, and they require all divers to hold valid accident and liability insurance, providing international coverage options to meet Spanish regulations. The instructional approach emphasises a deep understanding of the underwater environment and the importance of preserving it.

As an SSI affiliated centre, Mar Balear provides a comprehensive range of training programmes. Beginners can start with Try Scuba or the Basic Diver course, progressing through Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver certifications.

For experienced divers, the curriculum expands into advanced specialties such as Deep Diving, Wreck Diving, Night Diving, and Navigation. For those undertaking specific training, the centre provides specialised equipment. This includes dive computers for Deep Diving courses and Diver Propulsion Vehicles (DPV) for the Scooter diving specialty.

The marine life in the surrounding reserves is abundant, particularly around the seagrass meadows and rocky reefs. You will regularly encounter groupers, barracuda, dentex, and amberjack hunting in the blue or near the reef edges.

In the more sheltered areas and seagrass beds, it is common to see rays, octopuses, and various juvenile fish species. The rocky walls and islands are also home to resident populations of dentex and large groupers.

Macro life and smaller organisms are plentiful amongst the sponges and corals. Divers can observe a variety of octopuses and smaller reef inhabitants hiding within the crevices of the Mediterranean seabed.
