Tuent Adventure

Tuent Adventure is situated in the rugged, scenic landscape of Cala Tuent, nestled at the foot of the Sierra de Tramuntana. This area of Mallorca is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site, offering a sense of isolation and natural beauty that is increasingly rare. The centre operates from the CAN XOP Dive Camp, positioned only 150 metres from the beach.

The location is chosen for its proximity to pristine marine environments and its minimal maritime traffic. It serves as a gateway to the coastal waters near Sa Calobra, where the landscape meets the Mediterranean in a dramatic display of cliffs and clear, calm bays.

The centre is a PADI affiliated diving operation providing a variety of training and exploration opportunities. They manage both a primary Dive Camp at CAN XOP and a support shop located at Port de Sa Calobra to facilitate daily activities and excursions.

For those looking to stay close to the water, the centre provides accommodation through its Dive Camp. They offer options for individuals or pairs, including shared or private double rooms, and can assist with wider accommodation arrangements for those undertaking longer training programmes.

A comprehensive range of PADI courses is available, catering to every stage of a diver's development. Beginners can start with the Open Water Diver course, while those looking to expand their skills can progress through the Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver programmes.

For more specialised training, the centre offers several PADI specialties and skill-building courses, including Deep Diver, Orientation, Buoyancy, Underwater Photography and Video, and Species Identification. They also provide training for Cave Diving and Search and Recovery. Professional divers can work towards their Divemaster certification through the centre's structured programmes.

The centre operates a 7m semi-rigid boat designed for local excursions. This vessel has a capacity for 6 passengers, making it suitable for small groups or guided dives. The boat is used for daily outings and can also facilitate night dives in the area.

The Dive Camp at CAN XOP is equipped with essential shore-based facilities, including dedicated rest areas, large outdoor gardens, and bathrooms with outdoor showers. A large outdoor kitchen with a barbecue is available for divers to use between sessions.

Full equipment hire is available on-site for those not travelling with their own kit. This includes the necessary components for a complete dive setup, ensuring you can participate in both day trips and night dives without issue.

The marine life in the Cala Tuent area is diverse, with many species found amongst the rocky structures and seagrass. You can regularly observe Common dentex (Dentex dentex), Amberjack (Seriola), and various species of Grouper (Epinephelus) patrolling the depths. Gilt-head bream (Sparus aurata), Salema porgy (Sarpa salpa), and white seabream are also common sights in the water column.

On the seabed and around the reef structures, you may encounter Octopus (Octopus vulgaris), Conger eel (Congridae), and various species of Ray (Batoidea). Triggerfish and much larger pelagics, such as Tuna (Thunnus) and Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), occasionally pass through the area.

For those interested in macro life, the area hosts Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani) and seahorses. These smaller inhabitants add significant detail to the underwater landscape, particularly when exploring the more sheltered sections of the reef.

The diving season runs from March to November. The area is known for its calm conditions, with an absence of strong currents, making it a reliable location for various skill levels. The waters around Cala Tuent are generally characterised by excellent visibility and minimal maritime traffic.
