Petrodivers

Petrodivers has been operating out of Porto Petro in the southeast of Mallorca since 2003. The centre is ideally positioned for accessing the Reserva Marina Del Migjorn De Mallorca, a protected natural area located just a short distance from the base.

Daily excursions are a core part of the programme, with regular trips to the island of Cabrera. Whether you are looking to explore the local reef flats or take advantage of the island's protected waters, the centre provides a consistent gateway to the best of the Balearic Sea.

The team is comprised of seven experienced instructors capable of guiding divers through a wide range of environments. Because the centre caters to an international clientele, the staff is multilingual, with proficiency in English, German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Turkish, Persian, and Arabic.

As a centre affiliated with PADI, SSI, CMAS, VDST, and PSS, they provide a versatile training environment. This allows them to accommodate divers following various certification pathways, from recreational enthusiasts to those seeking more structured European certification standards.

The training programme covers the full spectrum of recreational diving. You can begin with Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver courses and progress through Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver levels. The centre also offers the SSI Advanced Adventurer programme and Scuba Skills Update for those looking to refine their buoyancy and trim.

For those following the CMAS or VDST pathways, the centre provides 1 Star, 2 Star, and 3 Star certifications. Specialist training is also available, including Wreck Diving, Drift Diving, Underwater Photography, and Cave Diving. For those interested in non-scuba activities, snorkeling trips and freediving instruction are also provided.

The centre operates a dedicated speed boat powered by a 225 hp Yamaha engine. This vessel is designed to reach dive sites quickly and has a capacity for up to 12 divers on board.

The boat is used for daily excursions, including trips to Cabrera and night dives. Nitrox is available for use during these trips.

The shore base is equipped with a new Bauer compressor, ensuring high air quality for all cylinder fills. For those requiring rental kit, the centre stocks Scubapro and Aqualung equipment, including BCDs, regulators, masks, fins, boots, gloves, computers, and torches.

Full kit hire is available, though wetsuits are provided separately. The centre also offers Nitrox service for divers looking to extend their bottom times.

The local reefs are home to a variety of resident species. You can regularly encounter groupers, scorpionfish, and octopus among the rocky structures, as well as schools of barracuda passing through the water.

Macro life is present for observant divers, including seahorses and various octopus species. These can often be found tucked into the crevices of the reef.

The surrounding waters also host larger inhabitants such as octopus and various reef fish, providing a constant sense of life throughout the dive.

The area is characterized by the protected environments of the Migjorn and Cabrera reserves, which offer diverse diving opportunities. Divers should be prepared for various reef and cave environments depending on the specific site chosen.
