Pro Dive Paradise Taveuni

Paradise Taveuni is situated on the south coast of Taveuni, Fiji, an island often referred to as the 'Garden Island'. The resort is set on five acres of elevated beachfront land, offering a direct connection to the surrounding marine environment.

Since its establishment in 2008, the centre has become a base for divers looking to explore the prolific reefs of the region. The resort provides a boutique experience with a limited number of rooms, ensuring a more personalised atmosphere for those staying on-site to dive.

As a PADI 5 Star dive centre, the facility is run by an experienced Fijian diving team. The staff provides guided experiences tailored to the specific needs of the diver, whether you are completing your first certification or looking to explore deeper reefs.

The centre offers a range of educational programmes, including the PADI Open Water Referral Course for those looking to continue their training elsewhere. For those needing to brush up on their skills before heading out to the reef, refresher courses are available on-site.

The training programme is comprehensive, covering everything from the initial Discover Scuba Diving experience to the PADI Open Water Diver course. For those looking to progress, the centre offers the PADI Advanced Open Water and PADI Rescue Diver courses.

Specialised training is also available, including the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course to help you extend your bottom time. If you are in the middle of your training elsewhere, the PADI Open Water Referral Course allows you to complete your requirements here.

The centre provides a variety of rental options for those not travelling with their own kit. Full equipment hire is available, while specific items such as masks, snorkels, and fins can be provided separately. Wetsuits are also available for hire to ensure comfort during your dives.

For those using Enriched Air Nitrox, the centre has the necessary facilities on-site to support your dives. The resort is also equipped with Starlink Wi-Fi and solar power with a backup generator to maintain essential services.

The reefs are characterised by a dense covering of life, including various Hard coral (Scleractinia) and Soft coral (Alcyonacea) species. You will find an abundance of Sea fan (Gorgoniidae), sea whips, and sponges (Porifera) providing structure for the resident fish.

Large schools of reef fish move through the water, including various Anthias (Anthias), Fusilier (Caesio), and Damselfish (Pomacentridae). You can also encounter larger pelagic species such as trevallies, Jacks (Carangidae), and various types of sharks, including Grey reef shark (Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos) and Whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus).

In the crevices and around the coral structures, look for more specialised residents like the Ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus), various species of Goby (Gobiidae), and Moray eel (Muraenidae). Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, from Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani) to various species of shrimp and even garden eels (Gorgasia).

Larger animals such as Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) and various stingrays, including blue-spotted rays, are part of the regular marine landscape. You may also see Napoleon wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus) and various species of Grouper (Epinephelus) patrolling the reef.

The best time to visit the area is throughout the year, though the dry season from May to October typically offers the most consistent conditions. The centre offers night diving to experience the reef's transition after sunset.
