KoroSun Dive

Located on the island of Vanua Levu in Fiji, KoroSun Dive serves as a gateway to some of the most pristine marine environments in the region. Operating out of the Savasi Island Resort, the centre provides daily departures for divers looking to explore the waters around Savusavu and the protected reaches of the Namena National Reserve.

With over 18 years of experience in Fijian waters, the team focuses on guided explorations that highlight the archipelago's famous biodiversity. The centre's location allows for efficient access to both local reef flats and more significant pass dives, catering to a wide range of experience levels.

KoroSun Dive is a PADI affiliated centre that provides instruction and guided dives seven days a week. The team manages everything from introductory sessions to professional-level training, ensuring a structured approach to every outing.

The centre's curriculum is designed to take divers through the full PADI progression. All instruction and dive guiding are conducted in English, providing a clear and consistent experience for international divers.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of PADI courses designed for all stages of a diver's development. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving to experience the underwater environment before progressing to the Open Water Diver certification.

For those looking to expand their skills, the centre provides Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster training. This allows divers to move from recreational exploration into more advanced reef work and professional development.

The reefs around Savusavu and Namena are defined by their spectacular soft coral (Alcyonacea) gardens. These colonies provide a complex architecture for a vast array of tropical reef fish, including various species of Angelfish (Pomacanthidae), Butterflyfish (Chaetodon), and Wrasse (Labridae).

You will frequently encounter larger residents such as Grouper (Epinephelinae), Snappers (Lutjanidae), and various species of Jack (Carangidae). The presence of reef sharks, including Whitetip reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus), is a common feature of these healthy ecosystems.

Depending on local conditions, divers may also encounter Hammerhead shark (Sphyrna) sightings. The area's pelagic presence is further bolstered by visiting species like Barracuda (Sphyraena) and Tuna (Thunnus).

For those interested in smaller life, the reef holds a variety of Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani) and other macro life tucked within the coral structures. Large clams and various sea anemone fish also inhabit the reef flats and ledges.
