Safaga serves as an ideal base for divers seeking a relaxed environment with easy access to some of the Red Sea's most varied underwater landscapes. From shallow coral gardens to deep offshore walls, the area offers a spectrum of environments suited to all levels of experience.

ABC Dream Divers has been operating in the region since 2017, providing a structured approach to both recreational diving and professional training. The centre is positioned near the marina and local hotels, making it a practical choice for those staying on the coast.

The centre operates under Egyptian, Kuwaiti, and German management, led by founder Adel Abd El Aziz, who brings many years of Red Sea experience to the team. This international oversight ensures a professional atmosphere tailored to a global clientele.

Instruction is conducted in English and German, with Arabic also spoken on-site. The team is geared towards a family-friendly environment, offering specific considerations for children and groups. They provide a range of training from introductory dives for beginners to Dive Master programmes for those pursuing a professional career.

As an SDI affiliated centre, ABC Dream Divers offers a comprehensive syllabus. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or the Scuba Diver course, progressing through the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications.

For divers looking to specialise, a variety of SDI Specialty courses are available. The training ladder continues through Rescue Diver and up to the professional Dive Master level. Emergency First Response training is also provided on-site.

The centre maintains a significant inventory of aluminium cylinders, including 12-litre, 10-litre, and 15-litre options. Nitrox 32% is available in both 12-litre and 15-litre cylinders to extend bottom times on deeper sites.

For those requiring rental kit, a full range of equipment is provided, including regulators from Mares, Scubapro, and Aqualung with both DIN and international valves. BCDs are available from Scubapro, Aqualung, Mares, Cressi, and Coltri Sub in sizes ranging from Junior to XXXL. Divers can also hire dive computers, masks, fins, wetsuits (including 7mm semi-dry models), and underwater cameras.

The reefs around Safaga are defined by their vibrant hard coral gardens and extensive seagrass meadows. You will find a high density of life including sea fans, gorgonians, and various species of coral that provide the structural foundation for the ecosystem.

In the open water and along the walls, larger species frequent the area. Divers can encounter thon, barracuda, jack, and various sharks, including whitetip sharks and grey reef sharks. Pelagics such as eagle rays and dolphins are also part of the local marine life.

Within the coral structures and sandy patches, a huge variety of smaller fish thrives. This includes snappers, sweetlips, wrasse, and many species of grouper. Garden eels are frequently seen inhabiting the sandy areas near the reef edges.

Macro life and specialised residents add further interest to the dives. You can observe longnose hawkfish near coral heads, as well as various species of moray eels and sea turtles navigating the reefs.

The diving environment in Safaga varies significantly depending on the chosen site. Many of the local reefs, such as Ras Abu Soma and Tobia Kebir, are known for having very little to no current, making them suitable for calmer diving.

In contrast, offshore sites like Abu Kafan and the Brothers islands can experience more significant conditions. These locations often feature deeper walls and more open water, which can influence the local currents.
