Gabr el Bint, Sharm El Sheikh: Wall Diving & Coral Gardens

Gabr el Bint, situated approximately 30 km south of Dahab but often accessed from Sharm El Sheikh via liveaboard, presents a vibrant underwater landscape that defines Red Sea diving. As you descend, the reef's topography immediately reveals its dual character: on one side, a sheer wall plunges into the blue, offering a classic Red Sea wall dive experience. The other aspect transitions into gently sloping sandy areas, creating a mosaic of varied habitats.

This site is characterized by its incredibly rich marine life, a testament to the health and biodiversity of the Red Sea. The transition points between the wall and the sandy slopes are often where you find the most intense activity, with schooling fish moving between the shelter of the reef and the open water. Hard and soft corals cling to every surface, forming dense and colorful gardens that are a visual feast even on the initial descent.
