Cabilao Divers

Located on Cabilao Island in the Visayas, Sanctuary Divers is the official diving centre for the Cabilao Sanctuary. The island is a renowned destination for those seeking vibrant coral life and exceptional opportunities for underwater macro photography.

The centre is designed by divers for divers, offering a secluded escape from the busier hubs of the Philippines. It provides a base for exploring the diverse marine environments that characterise this part of the archipelago.

The team is composed of professional local Filipino guides who were born and raised on Cabilao. This gives them an intimate, firsthand knowledge of the local currents, topography, and the specific habits of the marine life around the island.

As an SSI-affiliated centre, the facility provides structured training for all levels. The approach focuses on safety and technical precision, particularly for those moving into advanced or technical disciplines.

The course catalogue covers the entire spectrum of scuba diving, beginning with the Discover Scuba Diving programme for beginners. Standard SSI certifications including Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver are taught on-site.

For those looking to expand their capabilities, the centre offers Nitrox and Scuba Skill Update courses. Technical training is a core part of the offering, with specialised instruction available for Trimix, rebreather, and DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle) diving.

The centre is one of the more comprehensively equipped facilities in the region, using high-quality Aqualung and Apeks equipment. Full kit hire is available, including balanced regulators, and sidemount configurations can be requested.

For gas blending, the centre utilises an automated membrane system to produce Nitrox, ensuring clean and precise mixes. For technical divers, the facility supports rebreather, Trimix, and DPV diving. Divers can also hire dive computers and larger 15-litre cylinders if required.

The reefs around Cabilao are defined by their vibrant coral life and a high density of tropical fish. You will find a healthy ecosystem of corals that provides the foundation for the island's famous biodiversity.

For those interested in larger pelagics, the area offers the chance to encounter whale sharks and thresher sharks. These sightings are subject to natural movement and seasonal availability.
