Vietnam Active Phu Quoc Diving Center

Located in the Duong Dong district of Phu Quoc, Vietnam Active Phu Quoc provides access to the islands' protected marine park. The centre is positioned on Tran Hung Dao in the Cua Lap area, making it a central hub for those looking to explore the local reefs and marine ecosystems.

As a PADI 5 Star centre, the operation is built around structured training and organised dive excursions. Whether you are looking for a guided reef exploration or a formal certification course, the centre provides the necessary logistics, including hotel pick-up and drop-off services.

The centre operates with a focus on small group sizes, maintaining a ratio of no more than four divers per guide. This ensures that instructors can provide close supervision, which is particularly beneficial during technical specialties or for those completing their first open water certifications.

Instruction covers the entire PADI progression, from junior divers aged 10 and up through to professional Divemaster candidates. The local reefs are home to a variety of colourful reef fish, including many species of Angelfish (Pomacanthidae), Butterflyfish (Chaetodon), and Parrotfish (Calotomus). You will frequently see sergeant majors, chromis, and various Wrasse (Labridae) moving through the water column.

Larger pelagics and reef residents include the Grey reef shark (Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos) and various Groupers (Epinephelus). Sea turtles (Cheloniidae) are also present in the area, alongside Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) and occasional sightings of the Whale shark (Rhincodon typus).

For those interested in macro life, the seabed offers plenty of interest, from Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani) to the Octopus (Octopus vulgaris) and the coconut octopus. You can also find mantis shrimp, Spiny lobster (Palinuridae), and sea anemone fish living among the corals and reef structures.

The best time to dive in Phu Quoc is outside of the rainy season. It is recommended to avoid diving from May to October, as weather and diving conditions can become unpredictable during this period.
