That matters when you are sorting out arrival, dinner or a spa treatment rather than trying to mime your way through the reception desk with tired eyes and a damp logbook.

MUR Faro Jandia Fuerteventura & Spa is a large, recently renovated resort with 248 rooms, a beachfront setting and an all-inclusive format. The feel is sociable rather than secluded: two pools, evening entertainment, a pool bar, organised activities and plenty of space around the main terrace. Couples can settle into the sea-view side of the resort, while families have a children’s pool, playground and children’s activities to keep the non-diving hours occupied.

The hotel’s useful trick is that it gives you several ways to spend an afternoon without having to leave the grounds. You can swim, use the spa, take a yoga class, walk to the beach or simply claim a sun lounger and let the Atlantic do the talking.

The address is in Morro del Jable, Spain, on Avenida del Atlántico in the Jandía area of Fuerteventura. The hotel has direct access to a golden-sand beach, with Playa del Matorral about 0.4 miles away. The beach stretches for around 800 metres and has sun loungers, parasols and a beach bar.

Morro Jable Beach is about 0.6 miles away, while Playa Las Coloradas is roughly 2.5 miles from the hotel. That gives you a choice between staying close to the resort or exploring a little farther along the coast without turning every outing into a major expedition.

For dinner away from the all-inclusive plan, Asador la Parrilla, Dock Grill Rock and Taberuga are all around 0.1 miles away. Tortuga Fuerteventura is about 0.2 miles away for a drink, and the centre of Morro Jable is around 3 miles from the hotel. Fuerteventura Airport is approximately 48 miles away by road.

Every room has a balcony with either Atlantic, garden or pool views, plus an outdoor table and chairs. For a diving couple, the sea-view rooms are the obvious choice if the view matters when you are drinking the first coffee of the day; the pool-view rooms keep you closer to the main activity and may suit a more practical stay. Single rooms are available for solo divers, while selected double rooms accommodate a third guest on a sofa bed.

The rooms were renovated in 2023 and use modern wooden furniture. Air conditioning helps when the island has done its usual work on you, while soundproofing gives the night a better chance of remaining a night rather than becoming an accidental extension of the evening entertainment. Satellite television, free Wi-Fi and daily housekeeping cover the less glamorous but useful parts of hotel life.

If you are travelling with children, check the exact room arrangement before booking: cots and extra beds are not available. Family rooms exist, but the room categories differ in sleeping arrangements and capacity. A balcony with chairs is handy for drying swimwear and sorting yourself out; the diving centre is elsewhere, so treat it as your own outside space rather than a place for dive-equipment handling.

The all-inclusive plan gives you breakfast, lunch and dinner on site. Breakfast is a buffet served from 07:00 to 10:30, which gives you a workable start before a morning activity, while the 24-hour room service is there for the days when the sensible distance between you and food is the distance from the bed to the door.

Restaurante Faro is the main air-conditioned restaurant, serving international cuisine at breakfast, lunch and dinner in a relaxed dress code. Restaurante Atlántico concentrates on fresh seafood, with lunch and dinner on its terrace overlooking the ocean; smart-casual clothing applies there. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available.

There are two named bars. Bar Faro is the comfortable lobby bar, with cocktails, while Bar Piscina sits beside the pool and also specialises in cocktails. A snack bar and a poolside grill add more informal options, including Spanish classics such as paella. For a change of scenery, the nearby restaurants and bars are close enough to reach on foot, although the all-inclusive arrangement makes staying put an entirely reasonable decision.

The main outdoor pool is large, heated in winter and surrounded by a terrace with sun loungers and parasols. It also has an integrated pool bar, which removes the need for the heroic journey from the water to the next drink. A separate children’s pool sits nearby, and the garden and terraces give you room to find a quieter corner between swims.

Spa Faro covers 500 square metres, with a sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, pebble pool and sensations shower. Massages, facials and other treatments are available, while the fitness centre and yoga classes offer a more active way to work off dinner. Spa access and certain treatments carry their own conditions, and children under 16 are not allowed in the spa.

Away from the pool and wellness area, you can play table tennis, billiards, mini golf or use the tennis courts. A golf course is within about 2 miles, and the hotel also offers cycling, hiking, boat excursions, island visits and trips to a local market. Kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling, fishing and jet-ski activities are available for days when you want to remain near the water without putting on a cylinder.

Evenings bring live music, shows and DJ nights. Families have a kids’ club for children aged 4 to 12, children’s entertainment, a playground, a children’s menu and babysitting, so the resort can handle a family timetable without asking the divers to surrender every evening.

The hotel has a 24-hour reception, luggage storage, a tour desk, concierge service, car hire and an airport shuttle that you can arrange with the hotel. Private parking is available on site. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, and laundry, ironing and dry-cleaning services are available when salt, sand and travel clothes begin to form their own ecosystem.

The hotel lists check-in from 14:00 and check-out until 12:00. The reservation conditions give a 15:00 check-in time, so check the arrival time attached to your chosen accommodation. You should have photo identification and a payment card ready at arrival, and the hotel asks you to provide your expected arrival time in advance. Early check-in and late check-out can be requested.

Children of all ages are welcome, but children aged three and over are charged as adults under the hotel’s child policy. Cots and extra beds are not available, and pets are not allowed. The spa is restricted to guests aged 16 and over. Cash, Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted, and smoking is limited to designated areas.
