SOL by Meliá Fuerteventura Jandia - All Suites is built around the idea that a room should give you space to come back to. Each accommodation is a junior suite rather than a single bedroom, with a sleeping area, a lounge area and a private bathroom. That matters when you return warm, salty and carrying more kit than dignity.

The setting is green for a resort on Fuerteventura's south coast, and the property combines outdoor space with the easy routine of a beach hotel: a balcony or terrace, swimming pools, loungers, evening drinks and entertainment. With 295 junior suites, this is a substantial resort rather than a small hideaway. You choose it for space, access to the beach and enough going on to fill a non-diving day without having to plan an expedition.

You are in Morro del Jable, on the southern coast of Fuerteventura, at Bentejui 8. Jandía Beach is 150 metres away, while Morro Jable Beach is around 350 metres on foot. A sandy beach is directly accessible from the property, with loungers and parasols available when you prefer the shore to the pool.

Morro Jable Port is an 18-minute walk away. From there, you can catch ferries to Gran Canaria, as well as catamarans, yachts and a pirate ship. For a change of scenery without leaving the resort area, Playa del Matorral is about 1 mile away by car, and Playa Las Coloradas is around 1.7 miles on foot.

You also have a few places to eat and drink nearby. Eiscafe Magdalena is about 250 metres away, Gastrobar Destino around 500 metres, and Restaurante Heidi roughly 650 metres on foot. Jandía Natural Park is about 10 km away by car, giving you a straightforward option for a day out beyond the beach strip.

The useful distinction here is not a long list of room labels; it is what you want to see when you open the door. A Junior Suite with Sea View suits a couple who would rather look towards the coast than the pool. A Junior Suite with Pool Access puts the water closer still, while a terrace gives you a more private outdoor place to sit. The balcony option keeps things simple and includes two single beds, which may suit friends travelling together.

Every junior suite has air conditioning, a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, bathroom amenities, towels, a hairdryer and a sofa bed. There is also a minibar, a desk, a flat-screen television and free WiFi throughout the property. The bedroom-and-lounge layout gives you somewhere to sit without treating the bed as the only chair in the room. A small but useful distinction after a long day in the water.

Most balconies and terraces have panoramic views, and the outdoor space gives you somewhere to take the first drink of the evening or leave the room before the day has properly started. Daily housekeeping is included, and a lift serves the property. If you need step-free access, the hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities.

Tenerife is the named restaurant, with international cooking and breakfast, lunch and dinner served there. Breakfast is buffet-style, which is the practical format when you need coffee, something substantial and the freedom to build a plate according to the morning's plans. Special-diet menus are available on request.

There are four restaurants in the hotel's dining provision, along with a snack bar for something less formal. A pool bar covers the daytime side of the operation, while the bar lounge opens in the evening with music and entertainment. The arrangement gives you a choice between staying close to the pool and moving into the evening without turning dinner into a military exercise.

Minibars are available in the suites, useful for keeping a drink close when you return late or simply cannot face another walk in search of water. The hotel provides breakfast and dinner as part of its stated dining offer; the wider board formula depends on the accommodation arrangement you select.

Two swimming pools give the resort its main daytime rhythm, including a heated pool. There is also a separate children's pool, plus sun loungers and umbrellas around the outdoor areas. You can make the day as active or as horizontal as you like; the furniture is unlikely to object if you choose the second option.

For gentle movement away from the water, the hotel offers fitness classes and yoga classes, while bicycle hire provides another way to explore the surroundings. Cycling and hiking are also available off site, so you can trade the poolside for a longer outing when the legs are ready for something other than climbing the stairs from breakfast.

The evening programme includes live music and entertainment for children and adults. Younger guests have a kids' club for children aged five to ten, together with indoor and outdoor play areas. That makes the resort workable for mixed-age groups, while couples can simply use the pool, the beach or the evening bar as their own timetable.

Fuerteventura Airport is about 53 miles away, or roughly 85 km. Car hire is available through the hotel, and luggage storage is useful if your arrival or departure does not line up neatly with your room. WiFi is free throughout the property, and laundry and ironing services are available when salt, sand and travel clothes begin to form their own ecosystem.

Check-in starts from 15:00 and check-out runs until 12:00. You need to be at least 18 to check in, and you will need photo identification and the card used for the reservation on arrival. The hotel also asks you to provide your expected arrival time. Cash is not accepted, so plan to pay by card.

Children of any age are welcome, although cots and extra beds are not available. Pets can stay on request, with access limited to the Junior Suite with Terrace. A safety deposit box, luggage storage, key-card access and a designated smoking area are also available.
