Studio Timotheos Basic is a small, self-contained base in Marathias for travellers who would rather have their own door, kitchenette and outdoor space than a large resort routine. The setting keeps things straightforward: a detached one-bedroom house, a private entrance and a beach within a short walk.

You get the useful sort of comfort here. Air conditioning for the hot part of the day, a fan, free WiFi and a private bathroom make the return from the coast uncomplicated, while the balcony, terrace and garden give you somewhere to sit without having to dress up for it. There is also free public parking nearby, which helps if you are exploring Zakynthos by car.

The address is in Marathias, on Zakynthos, rather than in Zakynthos Town. Keri Beach is about 0.1 mile away, with sand, sun loungers and parasols; the coast is therefore part of your daily routine, not a scenic idea on a map. Keri Lake is around 0.7 mile away, and the spring known as Πηγη Ηροδοτου-κερι Ζακυνθου is about a five-minute walk from the property.

The island’s airport is roughly 7 miles away by road, around a 13-minute drive. Other beaches sit within easy reach by car, including Marathias Beach at about 1.4 miles by road and Marathonisi Beach at around 1.1 miles. For a longer outing, Keri Lighthouse Restaurant is about 3.5 miles away, while Zakynthos Town’s museums and squares are around 8 miles from the accommodation.

The one-bedroom house is the sensible choice when you want a little more separation than a single-room studio usually gives you. It sleeps up to three people, so it can work for a couple who like having room for bags and beach gear, or for a small family; do note that cots and extra beds are not available.

The kitchenette comes with kitchenware, an electric kettle and a coffee machine, which covers the useful basics for an early start or a late return. There is no need to hunt for a café before your first coffee. The outdoor dining area, patio, balcony and terrace extend the living space when the weather is doing what Zakynthos weather generally prefers to do.

Garden, mountain and landmark views give the house a proper sense of place rather than a corridor outlook. Air conditioning and a fan help with warm nights, while the mosquito net is a practical detail worth having in a Mediterranean setting. The private bathroom has a bath or shower, towels, slippers, toiletries and a hairdryer.

Breakfast is served in continental buffet style, giving you the sort of start that can be kept light or built up before a busy day outside. The property also has an outdoor dining area, so coffee and food can be taken into the open air rather than consumed beside the bed.

For the rest of the day, the kitchenette is the useful feature: kettle, coffee machine and kitchenware let you handle simple meals and drinks at your own pace. There is no hotel restaurant or bar described here, so the house suits you best if you are happy to keep evenings independent or head out for dinner. Dennis Taverna is about 3.8 miles away by road, and Vardiola Taverna is around 3.9 miles away.

The beach is the main event beyond the front door. Keri Beach lies about 0.1 mile away and offers sand, sun loungers and parasols, which is enough for an easy coastal afternoon without turning the hotel into an activities programme. Boating is available in the surrounding area for days when floating face-down is not quite enough adventure.

Back at the house, the patio, garden, terrace and outdoor furniture give you several places to read, dry off and watch the light change over the surrounding landscape. Cultural excursions are also available as part of the property’s activity offering, while the nearby spring and Keri Lake give you two straightforward reasons to leave the lounger.

This is a place for choosing your own pace. You can spend the afternoon on the sand, take a short trip around the island or simply sit outside with a cold drink and let the tiles warm your feet. The TV is there for the evening when even a sea view has had enough of you.

Check-in runs from 14:00 to 23:00, and check-out is from 07:00 to 11:00. You need to share your expected arrival time in advance, and photo identification and a credit card are required at check-in. There is no age requirement for checking in.

WiFi is free throughout the property. Free public parking is available nearby without reservation, although it is off-site rather than in the house itself. Upper floors are reached by stairs only, so this is worth factoring into your choice if stairs are awkward after a long travel day.

Children of any age are welcome, but cots and extra beds are not available. The accommodation is non-smoking, with a designated smoking area, and pets and parties are not allowed.
