Located in the heart of La Herradura, ViveBuceo has been a staple of the Costa Tropical diving scene for more than 10 years. The centre operates out of a naturally protected bay, which allows for consistent diving activity throughout the year, regardless of the season.

The school is affiliated with both PADI and PSS, ensuring international standards for all training programmes. The team focuses on personalised instruction, maintaining a strict ratio of no more than four divers per guide to ensure safety and close supervision.

Instructional services range from initial entry-level courses to professional training for those looking to become a Divemaster or Instructor. The staff communicates in Spanish, providing a local and authentic experience for those looking to learn or progress in the water.

ViveBuceo offers a comprehensive curriculum for all stages of a diver's development. Beginners can start with Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver courses, while those looking to expand their skills can pursue Advanced Open Water or Nitrox certifications.

The marine life in the bay is diverse, with many species inhabiting the various rocky and sandy habitats. You will regularly encounter large schools of sea bream, bogues, and sardines, alongside predators like Barracuda (Sphyraena) and Amberjack (Seriola).

Macro life enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, including various Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani) species, Octopus (Octopus vulgaris), and several types of scorpionfish (Scorpaena). You can also spot crabs (Brachyura), squat lobsters, and various species of Goby (Gobiidae) and blennies among the rocks.

The underwater scenery is defined by a rich array of fixed life, including large anemones (Actiniaria), various sponges (Porifera), and Gorgonian (Gorgonacea). Flower corals, yellow coral, and orange star coral provide much of the colour found on the reef structures, while sea urchins (Echinoidea) and large anemones populate the crevices.

The bay of La Herradura is naturally protected, which helps to mitigate the impact of swell and currents. This protection is the primary reason the centre can remain operational 365 days a year.
