The Mediterranean waters around Malaga host a diverse range of life, from large pelagics to delicate invertebrates. You can often encounter schools of fish and various species of wrasse (Labridae) patrolling the reef structures.

For those with a keen eye for macro life, the area offers plenty of interest. Look out for the Octopus (Octopoda), Seahorse (Hippocampus), and various Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani) amongst the crevices and seagrass.

Large marine life is also a feature of the region, with sightings of the Common dentex (Dentex dentex), Amberjack (Seriola), and various Grouper (Epinephelinae) species. You may also spot the Ocean sunfish (Mola mola) or large schools of porgies and pollocks moving through the water column.

Fixed life adds significant colour to the seabed, with orange coral, candelabra coral, and bryozoans providing essential habitats. You will also find various species of moray eel (Muraenidae) and lobster (Homaridae) tucked into the rocky outcrops.
