Alua Illa de Menorca was renovated in 2023 and has 242 rooms, giving the place enough going on for a family trip without requiring you to organise every hour of it yourself.

Cala Alcaufar Beach is about 0.9 miles away on foot, while Calo Roig Beach is roughly 1.3 miles away. Torre d’Alcaufar, a historic site, is around 1.4 miles away, giving you a straightforward short outing when the weather is doing its usual Menorcan work.

The immediate area includes restaurants such as Reina Isabel, about 0.5 miles away, and Piccolo Mundo, around 0.7 miles away. Mahón is about a 20-minute drive, and Menorca Airport is roughly 8 miles from the hotel, with a driving time of about 19 minutes.

Breakfast is a buffet. Lunch and dinner can also move outside to the Snack Bar by the pool, where the offer is built around snacks rather than a formal meal. It serves lunch and dinner, giving you a less ceremonious option when sitting down properly feels like an unnecessary challenge.

There is one named bar at the hotel: the Hall Bar, a lobby bar focused on cocktails. A sports bar and a pool bar are also part of the facilities, and guests can access the restaurants and bars at AluaSoul Menorca and AluaSun Mediterráneo. In short, you have several places for a drink, but the food is sensibly centred on the buffet and pool-side snack options.

The main pool is outdoors, with a pool bar close enough to remove the need for an ambitious expedition in search of refreshment. Sun loungers, beach chairs, umbrellas, a sun terrace and gardens give you several ways to spend an afternoon without booking anything more demanding than a comfortable seat.

For the muscles that have spent the morning pretending they are still twenty-five, the hotel has a fitness centre, yoga classes, a sauna, a steam room, a hammam and a relaxation area. Massage, beauty services, spa facilities and wellness packages are available for a more deliberate recovery session. The hot tub and massage services carry an additional charge, so they belong in the planning rather than the spontaneous-budget category.

There is also enough activity for a non-diving partner or a family day: table tennis, darts, billiards, mini golf, archery, cycling and hiking. Evening entertainment, live music and children’s entertainment keep the resort moving after dark, while the kids’ club is for children aged 4 to 12. Tennis courts and football and basketball facilities are about a quarter of a mile away.

Menorca Airport is about 8 miles away, around a 19-minute drive. Nearby public parking is available, and the hotel has a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, lockers, a tour desk, currency exchange and car hire. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, which covers the practical business of checking tomorrow’s plans without having to hunt for a signal.

Check-in starts at 15:00 and check-out runs until 12:00. You will need photo identification and a payment card at check-in, and the hotel asks you to provide your expected arrival time. That is worth sorting before travel, particularly if your flight arrives outside the usual rhythm of the resort.

Children of any age are welcome. A cot can be requested for children aged 1 to 2, while extra beds are not available. Dogs weighing up to 10 kg can stay in the Double Room category by arrangement, with one dog per room. The hotel also accepts cash, and lift access reaches the upper floors.
