Sheikh Ali Dahab Resort is in Mashraba, Dahab, in South Sinai, Egypt. The sea is about a five-minute walk away, while Dahab Beach is roughly 0.9 miles on foot. The promenade is also within an easy walk, putting cafés, restaurants and dive centres within reach when you would rather leave the car where it is.

Laguna Beach is about a 25-minute walk away. That gives you a different stretch of coast to explore without turning a simple swim or stroll into an expedition. Tea Garden Cafe is about 400 feet away, and several restaurants, including Sea Bride and Meya Meya, are within roughly half a mile.

Free private parking is available on site, which is useful if you are travelling independently. The resort is not presented as a remote desert outpost: this is a town location, with Dahab's everyday life close enough to join in whenever you feel like it.

The useful distinction here is space. A Junior Suite suits a couple who want room to spread out after a day in the water, while the Two-Bedroom Suite gives a family or small group separate sleeping areas and more elbow room. Family rooms are available, and the suites include a seating area with a sofa rather than asking you to conduct the evening from the edge of the bed.

Suites open onto a balcony or terrace, with views that can look towards the pool, garden or mountains. The outdoor space gives you somewhere to sit with a drink or a cup of tea, while the resort's pool views and sea-view pool area keep the setting connected to Dahab rather than sealed away from it. The bathrooms have a walk-in shower, and Egyptian cotton linen and wooden furnishings keep the rooms practical without making them feel bare.

Air conditioning matters in a Red Sea climate, particularly when you return warm, salty and ready to stop moving. A fridge, kettle, dining table and tea or coffee-making facilities cover the small rituals that make a room work between dives. The Main Restaurant works across international food, with both buffet and à-la-carte choices. The wider restaurant offer also includes local cooking and fine dining, plus organic food sourced from the resort's farm. That gives you a choice between familiar fare and dishes with a more recognisably Egyptian or local direction, rather than one fixed menu every night.

Breakfast covers continental, Full English/Irish, vegetarian and American options, served buffet-style. It is the sort of spread that lets you choose between a proper plate before heading out and something more restrained when an early start has left you operating on habit alone.

There are two named or defined drink stops: the pool bar for something cold without straying far from the water, and the Coffee Shop, which serves fresh coffee and pastries through the day. A restaurant, a bar, the coffee shop and 24-hour room service mean the practical question is answered: you can eat on site, have a drink by the pool, or retreat to your suite when conversation has run out.

The outdoor pool has a sea view and a swim-up bar, giving you a low-effort option for the hours when another organised activity would be pushing your luck. Pool and beach towels are available, and the surrounding garden, sun terrace, outdoor furniture and picnic area provide places to sit without having to occupy the same chair all day.

For proper recovery, the resort has a massage service and a fitness area open around the clock. The fitness space is there if you want to loosen stiff legs or keep to a simple routine; the massage room is the more convincing choice when your shoulders have had enough of carrying the week.

When you want to leave the pool but not spend the day underwater, the resort can arrange or host activities including cycling, windsurfing, hiking, horse riding, snorkelling, cultural tours and live music or performances. Quad bike tours and journeys to St Catherine's Monastery and Mount Moses are also part of the wider activity offer. Board games and a shared lounge cover the quieter end of the scale.

Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport is about 57 miles away, with the road journey taking roughly an hour. Airport transfers are available through the resort, and a shuttle service is also offered. Arrange the transfer with the hotel before travelling; it is a much simpler start than arriving in Dahab and negotiating the final leg while carrying dive luggage.

Check-in starts at 14:00 and check-out runs from 11:00 to 12:00. Early check-in and late check-out can be requested. A photo ID and credit card are required at check-in, and the hotel asks you to share your expected arrival time.
