The reefs of Cabo Pulmo and the surrounding areas are teeming with life, including trevallies, groupers, snappers, and various species of turtles. Sea lions are a common sight, particularly around the archipelagos, and sharks are frequently encountered throughout the region.

For those seeking larger pelagics, the waters around Cabo San Lucas and La Ventana provide opportunities to see mantas, dolphins, and rays. Between December and April, the area becomes a significant destination for whale watching.

Specialised marine safaris in Puerto Chale, particularly around 8 and 9 November, offer the chance to witness massive sardine runs alongside marlin and dorado. This period is highly specific for those interested in schooling fish and predator interactions.
