Cerralvo Divers

Located in La Ventana, Baja California Sur, Cerralvo Divers offers access to the diverse underwater environments surrounding Cerralvo Island. The centre operates year-round, providing a gateway to the unique marine ecosystems of the Sea of Cortez.

Whether you are starting your journey with a Discover Scuba Diving session or looking to advance your skills through professional SSI certifications, the focus remains on small-group exploration. The operation is designed to bring divers close to the local pelagics and vibrant reef life through organised boat trips.

The team is led by Giacomo, an SSI Assistant Instructor Trainer with a decade of experience in the industry. He is joined by Mariel, an SSI Scuba Instructor holding a master's degree specialising in marine mammals, ensuring a high level of biological knowledge during your dives.

The centre maintains a strict diver-to-guide ratio, with a maximum of six divers per guide. This ensures that even in more exposed environments, you receive the attention required for safe and informative diving.

Cerralvo Divers is an SSI affiliated centre offering a complete range of training programmes. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) or the Open Water Diver course, while those looking to progress can enrol in Advanced Diver training.

For divers pursuing a professional career, the centre provides pathways through Divemaster and Assistant Instructor certifications. They also offer the React Right & Stress and Rescue course to enhance safety and situational awareness.

Dives are conducted via roundtrip boat transportation, with all necessary logistics managed by the crew. Each trip includes two cylinders per diver, along with a mask, fins, and weights.

To keep you fuelled during the day, the boat service provides lunch, fresh fruits, and drinks. The focus is on providing a seamless transition from the shore to the dive site.

Full rental equipment is available on-site for those not travelling with their own kit. This includes regulators, BCDs, and wetsuits, allowing you to dive without the need to transport heavy gear.

Basic essentials such as masks, fins, and weights are also provided as part of the diving packages.

The waters around Cerralvo Island are famous for significant pelagic encounters. You can regularly observe schools of Jacks, dolphins, and sea lions cruising through the area, alongside various species of sea turtles and moray eels.

During the summer months, the area becomes a focal point for giant mobula rays. You may also encounter giant manta rays, making this a premier destination for those seeking large marine animals.

The local reefs are home to a wide variety of fish species that inhabit the various structures around the island.
