Baja Joe's Hotel is a beachfront resort for divers, windsurfers and anyone who would rather spend the evening with sand underfoot than in a formal lobby. The setting is sociable without requiring a programme: a garden, outdoor seating, live music and a bar with its own brewery give you places to settle in when the day's activities are over.

The useful part is that the resort works for different kinds of stay. Couples can choose a sea-view room with a large bed and balcony, while families or small groups have an apartment or a two-bedroom house. Children of any age are welcome, and the shared lounge, games and outdoor play areas give younger travellers something to do while you finish your coffee.

WiFi is available throughout the resort, and the rooms have air-conditioning. That is the sort of detail you appreciate when salt, sun and a full day outside have done their work.

La Ventana Beach is around 50 metres away, while Joe's Garage is about 100 metres from the property. Restaurant Bar Marlin Azul is roughly 200 metres away, Playa Central around 800 metres, and Deep Blue about 0.8 miles. That gives you a few alternatives for an evening meal or drink without turning dinner into an expedition.

The resort sits in a beach setting rather than a town-centre one. You have the coast immediately at hand, with nearby bars and restaurants for a change of scene.

Sea views are the main dividing line here. The Double Room with Balcony and Sea View is the obvious couple's choice if you want a large bed and an outdoor space for the first coffee of the day. The Double or Twin Room with Sea View gives you more flexibility when two people prefer different sleeping arrangements.

For four, the Apartment with Sea View adds a private bathroom and a super-king bed. The Two-Bedroom House also sleeps four and has two bathrooms, making it the more practical layout when everyone wants a little personal space. It is a better fit for a small family or two couples than trying to organise four people around one room.

Air-conditioning helps take the edge off a hot Baja afternoon, while private bathrooms and terraces keep the basic routine straightforward. The Twin Room with Shared Bathroom is the budget-minded arrangement for two single beds, but the shared bathroom is a point to weigh carefully before booking. Daily housekeeping and free WiFi are available across the property.

The main restaurant, Texana Restaurant, covers breakfast, lunch and dinner, with Cajun and Indian dishes alongside food-truck favourites such as crunchwraps, double-decker tacos, grilled stuffed burritos and choco tacos. It is not trying to be a single-theme dining room. You can keep things familiar after a long day outside or choose something with a little more spice.

Breakfast and lunch run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 to 13:30. Dinner runs from 15:30 to 21:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Those hours matter if your day starts early or your return from the water is later than planned, so check the current schedule before relying on a particular meal.

There is also a full coffee shop for the caffeine department, plus one bar: Joe’s Garage Brewery. Its speciality is craft beer and margaritas, with live music as part of the atmosphere. A shared kitchen and BBQ facilities add flexibility when you want to handle part of the food yourself.

The beach is the main off-duty space, with loungers, chairs and parasols for reading, drying off or simply watching the bay do its thing. A sun terrace, garden and outdoor fireplace give you several ways to spend the part of the afternoon when moving any further feels unnecessarily ambitious.

Morning rooftop yoga with Yogalina offers a quieter start, while full-body massage and massage services are available when your shoulders have had enough of carrying the week. You can also join live music, game nights and special events, or use the shared lounge and TV area when the weather, or your energy levels, call for indoors.

For a more active day, the resort connects with windsurfing, kitesurfing, snorkelling, fishing, horse riding, hiking, cycling and bike tours. Bicycle hire and some excursions carry an additional charge. Snorkelling and spearfishing excursions are among the activities offered, while live sport broadcasts keep the evening options suitably uncomplicated.

Manuel Márquez de León International Airport is about 30 miles away, with a driving journey of roughly 53 minutes. An airport shuttle service and a general shuttle service are available to arrange with the property; current operation should be confirmed for your dates. Free public parking is available nearby, with no reservation required.
