Mango's Dive Center

Mango's Dive Center is situated directly on the shores of Subic Bay at the Mango's Resort in the Philippines. Since its establishment in 2016, the centre has become a focal point for divers seeking the unique historical treasures that lie within the bay.

Subic Bay is globally recognised for its concentration of fascinating historical wrecks, many of which remain accessible within recreational diving limits. The area offers a dual experience: the thrill of exploring sunken vessels and the opportunity to drift along vibrant coral reefs and walls.

The centre is affiliated with PADI, TDI, and PSAI, ensuring a standardised and professional approach to all training and guided dives. The team is dedicated to safety and provides a professional environment for both leisure divers and those pursuing technical certifications.

For those looking to advance their skills, the centre offers everything from entry-level courses to professional development, including the PADI Divemaster internship. The staff is experienced in handling both recreational and technical diving profiles, making it a reliable choice for a wide range of experience levels.

The training programme is extensive, covering the full spectrum of PADI recreational courses. You can begin with Discover Scuba Diving or the Open Water Diver course and progress through Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster levels.

For technical divers, the centre offers a robust selection of PADI and TDI courses. This includes PADI Tec 40, 45, and 50, as well as TDI Advanced Nitrox, TDI Decompression Procedures, and TDI Extended Range. Specialized training such as PADI Sidemount, PADI Wreck Diver, and PSAI Advanced Wreck Penetration is also available to help you master specific environments.

The centre operates two custom-built Philippine bangkas to take you to the dive sites. The Wahoo is a larger vessel with a capacity for over 20 passengers, while the Lapu Lapu is a more intimate boat suitable for up to 8 passengers.

These boats are equipped for various dive profiles, including night dives. For those on private charters, the boats can be equipped with coolers to keep your supplies fresh throughout the day.

Aqualung and Apeks equipment is maintained to a high standard and is available for hire, covering your full kit requirements. The centre also provides a retail shop and equipment servicing on-site.

Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom times. The centre is conveniently located at Mango's Resort, which features a beach bar, restaurant, and pub, providing a comfortable base for your stay.

The marine life in Subic Bay is diverse, with healthy reef systems supporting a wide variety of species. You will regularly encounter schools of fish, including jacks, tuna, and barracuda, alongside colourful reef residents such as angelfish, parrotfish, and pufferfish.

On the walls and reefs, look for various corals, sponges, and gorgonians. You may also spot larger pelagics like rays and the occasional shark, while garden eels and sea cucumbers inhabit the sandy patches.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to explore, with a high concentration of nudibranchs, octopuses, and various species of shrimp, such as banded shrimp. Moray eels, frogfish, and scorpionfish are also part of the local ecosystem, providing excellent subjects for underwater photographers.

Diving in Subic Bay is generally characterised by manageable conditions, though certain sites can experience more active water movement. For example, Canyons Reef can have moderate currents flowing towards the south.

Visibility typically ranges from 3 to 20 metres depending on the site and conditions. It is worth noting that between June and October, the rainy season can affect excursions to certain areas like Sampaloc Cove.
