Across from Kamala Beach, this is a resort for divers who also want an easy base for the hours between dives. You can come back to air-conditioned rooms, a choice of pools, a restaurant on site and the practical convenience of having Kamala's food, bars, massage shops and cafés close by. No grand expedition is required for dinner; sandals will do.

The feel is more family-friendly beach resort than small hideaway. Couples have room to settle into the pool and beach routine, while families have a kids' club, a children's playground, a playroom and a child-friendly buffet. The hotel's website is available in English and Chinese, which makes it easier to get the basic information before you arrive, even though no hotel staff languages are specified.

You are in Kamala Beach, Thailand, on Nar-had Road and directly beside the beach. Kamala Beach is a two-minute walk away, with the resort positioned in the middle of the local strip rather than in an isolated corner. That matters when you have finished eating and want to walk somewhere else without arranging transport.

The surrounding choices are usefully close. No.1 Seafood is nearby, while Oiy Restaurant & Bar and Classic Hot Dog Bar are within walking distance; Moon Bar, Viva and Moonrockbar give you alternatives for a drink or coffee. Laem Sing Beach is about 1.1 miles away, Surin Beach about 1.5 miles, and Pansea Beach about 2.1 miles.

Phuket FantaSea and Café Del Mar are around a five-minute drive away. Patong Beach is about 15 minutes by car, Old Phuket Town around 35 minutes, and Phuket International Airport around 45 minutes. The resort also offers free private parking on site, useful if you are exploring Phuket independently.

The room choice is mainly about how you want to use the resort. Pool Access Room is the obvious pick if stepping straight towards the water matters more than having the largest interior. Pool Side Room and Pool View Room give you more space to spread out after a day with wet clothes, chargers and the usual collection of diving odds and ends. The Two-Bedroom Villa is the practical option for a small group that wants separate sleeping areas rather than negotiating every night.

Couples can keep things simple with a king-bed room, while twin-bed categories make more sense when you are sharing with a dive buddy. The Family Room with Balcony brings a king bed and bunk beds into the same arrangement, and family categories are available for children of any age. Cots can be requested for younger children, while extra beds are available for older children, subject to the selected room.

Air conditioning is the feature you will notice most when you return hot, salty and ready to stop moving. Rooms also have soundproofing, a mosquito net, a refrigerator, an electric kettle, a private bathroom and either a balcony or outdoor space according to the category. A drying rack helps with ordinary holiday clothing, while daily housekeeping, room service, a safe and free Wi-Fi keep the practical side under control. Two swimming pools give the resort its main non-diving rhythm. The larger pool has sun loungers for reading or simply lying still, while the secondary pool offers another place to get wet when the main area is busy. Pool toys and water features make the set-up suitable for children as well as adults, and the swim-up pool bar removes the need to perform unnecessary journeys in the heat.

For a little movement, there is a fitness centre and table tennis. Bicycle rental, bike tours and walking tours are also available if you want to see more of Kamala than the route between room, pool and restaurant. The resort has a garden, terrace and sun terrace, with beach chairs and parasols for the more traditional version of doing very little.

Families have a kids' club, children's playground and playroom, with babysitting and child services available. Couples can use the pools, the nearby beach or the local cafés as their evening plan; the hotel does not require an organised programme to fill every hour.
