TGI Sangeli

Situated on the northwestern tip of the North Malé Atoll, TGI Sangeli provides access to some of the most diverse reef systems in the Maldives. The centre is part of the OBLU SELECT Sangeli complex, a unique two-island setup connected by a jetty, offering both family-oriented spaces and dedicated adult retreats on One Banyan Island.

Reaching the resort is straightforward with a 50-minute speedboat transfer from Malé International Airport. The location is defined by its commitment to marine conservation, notably through an active coral restoration project that has successfully transplanted over 10,000 coral fragments into the local ecosystem.

As a PADI affiliated centre, TGI Sangeli manages a variety of diving activities ranging from beginner training to experienced reef exploration. The team facilitates morning and afternoon boat excursions, as well as dedicated night dive programmes.

TGI Sangeli offers a full suite of PADI training programmes. Beginners can start their journey with the Open Water Diver course, while those looking to progress can pursue various other PADI certifications available on-site.

The reefs around Sangeli are home to a diverse array of pelagics and reef dwellers. You can regularly encounter reef sharks, eagle rays, and hawksbill turtles cruising the currents. Schools of parrotfish, snappers, and various vivaneaux add constant movement to the reef structure.

The coral gardens are particularly healthy due to ongoing restoration efforts, providing a complex habitat for invertebrates and smaller reef fish. Look out for octopus and various colourful reef fish darting amongst the corals.

For those interested in larger encounters, the area is known for sightings of manta rays. The combination of healthy reef flats and deeper lagoon areas ensures a high density of marine life throughout the year.
