Dive Spirit Mauritius is situated on the Royal Road in Trou aux Biches, serving the northern coastline of the island. The centre is built around a philosophy of personalised service, catering to individual divers and small groups looking to explore the local marine environment.

The area offers a diverse range of underwater topographies, from shallow, sheltered reefs to significant deep walls and historical shipwrecks. Whether you are looking to complete your first certification or seeking more challenging deep dives, the centre is positioned to access the best of the northern reefs.

The team is led by Thierry, a PADI Master Instructor with over 22 years of professional diving experience. This level of expertise ensures that the instruction provided is grounded in decades of practical, real-world knowledge.

The staff is composed of multilingual professionals, capable of conducting dives and training in both English and French. This helps ensure clear communication and safety, which is vital when navigating currents or performing technical skills.

Beyond standard instruction, the team is committed to eco-responsible diving behaviours. They integrate marine conservation into their approach, aligning with Project AWARE principles to ensure the local reefs are respected during every excursion.

The centre is a full-service PADI training facility, offering the complete progression from Discover Scuba Diving through to Divemaster. For those starting their journey, the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver courses form the essential foundation.

Specialised training is a core part of the curriculum, with courses including Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, and Peak Performance Buoyancy. Divers can also refine their skills through the Underwater Navigator, Underwater Naturalist, and Night Diver specialties.

Safety and conservation are also prioritised through the availability of Emergency First Responder (EFR), Emergency Oxygen Provider, and Project AWARE Marine Conservation courses. The reefs are characterised by a vibrant array of hard and soft corals, including extensive gorgonians and black coral. You will frequently see large schools of fish, such as snapper, jacks, and various species of triggerfish and angelfish.

Macro life is abundant for those who look closely. The sites are home to a variety of crustaceans, including lobster, spiny lobster, and various species of shrimp, alongside octopus and several types of moray eels.

For those interested in larger species, the area hosts several pelagics. You can encounter eagle rays, southern stingrays, barracuda, and various species of sharks, including small sharks that frequent the deeper sections of the reef.

Smaller, more specialised creatures are also common, such as leaf fish, scorpionfish, stonefish, and pufferfish. You may also spot colourful parrotfish, butterflyfish, and wrasse darting amongst the anemones and coral formations.

The diving in this region is accessible year-round. The northern sites offer a variety of environments, ranging from calm, shallow bays suitable for beginners to deeper walls and sites with gentle currents for drift diving.
