Nature Essentielle, Plonger - Explorer - Protéger

Located at the Port du Béal in Cannes, Nature Essentielle has been a fixture of the local diving community since 2010. After more than a decade of operations in Mandelieu, the centre established its new base in Cannes in May 2024, providing a fresh gateway to the underwater landscapes of the French Riviera.

The centre operates with a strong emphasis on the 'Explorer-Protect' philosophy, working closely with environmental organisations such as the Pelagos Sanctuary. This approach ensures that every dive, whether a simple exploration or a technical training session, is conducted with a deep respect for the local ecosystem.

The team is composed of professional instructors holding State diplomas (Diplômés d'État), ensuring a high standard of safety and technical instruction. As a PADI-affiliated centre, they provide a structured pathway for divers looking to progress through the international certification system.

Beyond standard scuba diving, the centre is highly active in youth development. They organise specialised sea and mountain programmes for children and adolescents, focusing on nature discovery and group cohesion. This multi-disciplinary approach is supported by their accreditation from the Ministries of Youth & Sport and National Education.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of PADI courses for all experience levels. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving (Baptême de plongée) or work through the standard progression to achieve their Open Water Diver certification.

For those looking to advance their skills or professional career, the centre provides PADI specialty courses, including Digital Underwater Photography, as well as the Divemaster programme. They also cater to younger divers with the PADI Scuba Diver Junior certification.

The Mediterranean waters around Cannes and Mandelieu host a variety of familiar species. During your dives, you can expect to encounter wrasses, sars, and various species of octopus. Moray eels are also frequently seen patrolling the rocky structures and crevices of the reef.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants provide plenty of interest for observant divers, with various crustaceans and smaller fish species inhabiting the seabed and rocky outcrops.
