Casa Olmia Résidence is an aparthotel for divers who prefer a proper base in Calvi to a room with nowhere to put a wet towel, a sandwich or tomorrow’s breakfast. The residence has ten apartments, each arranged for independent living with a kitchen, dining area, seating area and outdoor space.

Air conditioning takes care of the warmer evenings, while soundproofing gives you a better chance of sleeping through the night rather than following every conversation in the corridor. A lift serves the upper floors, and the property also has family apartments, private parking and full-day security.

This is a practical choice for a couple, a small group or a family sharing an apartment rather than several separate hotel rooms. You get room to spread out, and Calvi is close enough to remain part of the stay rather than just a name on the booking.

Rue Albert 1er puts you in central Calvi, between the sea and the mountains, with the citadel only a seven-minute walk away. The historic Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste is about 0.5 miles from the residence, so a stroll through town can include a little architecture without turning into an expedition.

Roncu Beach is around 0.4 miles away on foot, while Pinède Beach is also nearby. Other stretches of coast include Oscelluccia Beach, about 1.6 miles away, and Alga Beach, around 1.9 miles away. The sea is close, but this is a town residence rather than a property set directly on the sand.

Calvi railway station is roughly 0.2 miles away, and restaurants such as Sem Principio, Mara Sushis and U Paisanu are within a short walk. Calvi–Sainte-Catherine Airport is about 2.8 miles away by road; Bastia–Poretta Airport is around 59 miles away.

The useful distinction here is not a long catalogue of room labels but the way the apartments work once you come back tired and salt-streaked. Two-bedroom layouts suit couples travelling together or a small group that wants separate sleeping space, while the three-bedroom apartment gives a larger party more room to settle in without turning the living area into a luggage depot.

Every apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, hob, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and kitchenware. There is also a washing machine, which is the sort of detail that earns its keep on a diving trip. A dining table and seating area make it possible to eat properly indoors, and the balcony or terrace gives you somewhere to take the first coffee of the day.

Air conditioning helps after a hot day outside, while heating is available for cooler conditions. Views may include the city, mountains or sea, depending on the apartment. Private bathrooms have showers, towels and a hairdryer, and the accommodation also includes wardrobes, clothes rails and a drying rack for clothing.

This is self-catering accommodation, so the kitchen is the main dining room and the timetable is yours. A refrigerator holds drinks and provisions, the hob and microwave cover straightforward meals, and the dishwasher deals with the less glamorous part of the evening. After a full day underwater, that can be more useful than a grand menu you have to wait for.

Breakfast is available for an additional charge. The apartments also have coffee machines, kettles and dining areas, giving you the option of an early start without searching the streets for the first open café.

For meals out, several restaurants are close by in central Calvi, including Sem Principio, around 0.2 miles away, Mara Sushis at roughly the same distance, and U Paisanu at about 0.2 miles. Chez Tao, a bar, is around 0.5 miles away. The arrangement is simple: cook in, walk out, or let somebody else wash the plates.

The residence keeps its non-diving offer straightforward. A fitness room is available when you want to loosen up after a day on the boat, though nobody is asking you to turn the holiday into a training camp. Balconies, terraces and outdoor furniture give you somewhere to sit with a drink or a book.

The location does more of the work once you leave the apartment. Cultural outings are part of the programme, with boat trips, island visits, waterfalls, markets and snorkelling among the possibilities. That gives a non-diving partner something to do without requiring a daily tactical briefing over breakfast.

For a quieter afternoon, Calvi’s beaches and citadel are close enough to reach without making a project of it. Back at the residence, the apartment’s sofa, dining area and television provide the proper end point for the day: feet up, air conditioning on, plans postponed.

Private covered parking is available on site, with one parking space per apartment, and no reservation is needed. Wi-Fi is free throughout the residence; the connection is listed at 262 Mbps, suitable for video calls and streaming across several devices. Luggage storage is also available, and upper floors can be reached by lift.

Check-in runs from 15:00 to 19:00, with your arrival time to be arranged in advance. Check-out is from 08:00 to 11:00. The minimum age for check-in is 18, while children of any age are welcome. Cots and extra beds are not available, so the existing sleeping arrangements matter when you choose the apartment.

Smoking, pets and parties are not permitted. A refundable damage deposit is collected on arrival and returned after the accommodation has been inspected at check-out. The residence is non-smoking throughout and has family rooms, child safety socket covers and a children’s high chair.
